[18.8s] I thought we were stuffing our faces full of snacks. [21.6s] Guys, guys, it's been 20 minutes. [23.2s] Sorry! [24.8s] Previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [27.0s] We need your gold and your weapons. [29.3s] Then you can get by. [31.6s] No. [32.4s] You hear another thunderous crash and out comes a large Tyrannosaurus Rex. [38.3s] I'm going to cast Animal Friendship on the dinosaur. [42.0s] I'm going to say, hey, dino, dino, dino. [44.6s] You begin talking to this and you see its eyes kind of soften to you. [48.8s] Can I get in the saddle on the dino now that I'm on the back of it? [52.2s] Yeah, absolutely. [53.2s] But that's the end of your turn. [54.1s] No more messing with the dinosaurs. [55.9s] Nope, that's all I like. [57.5s] What more could I want to do, Rex? [59.2s] I will jump from the boat toward the edge of the water and in midair change myself [67.8s] into a large winter wolf. [70.6s] Donnie is able to telepathically communicate and he shows you, Nularaaaa, images of [76.2s] packs of gnolls surrounding this dinosaur and other dinosaurs in the area and taking [82.7s] them captive. [83.8s] I can't imagine that the ranger and the druid who are so in love with nature are like, [90.8s] no, this is fine. [91.8s] Oh, I'm on board with whatever you guys want to do. [94.0s] Let's go fuck up some gnolls. [95.6s] At the same time, Thea charges out, killing two of the gnolls. [100.2s] Flint and Nularaaaa, you charge into cluster of gnolls. [104.9s] All of you begin to feel a rumble coming from the trees. [108.6s] Rexie bursts through the trees as four more gnolls are coming out of one of the tents [113.8s] saying, what's going on here? [115.2s] And then they take a tail and just get swiped and knocked into the trees as Rexie lets [120.7s] out a huge roar. [122.3s] How do you kill him? [123.3s] He sees a glint in my eye and he knows as I walk towards him that his death is [129.0s] meeting him and he just falls over dead. [132.0s] I don't even have to hit him. [133.4s] Okay, so maybe me and Rexie walk over to them and they like are reuniting and I untie them. [139.6s] Just behind their eyes you see that there's a thank you there. [142.9s] They all work their way into the forest. [145.4s] Takes you about the rest of the day, but you get out of the forest around dusk [149.1s] and you are right at the edge of Luskin and standing right in the middle of the [154.9s] river is the host tower of the Arcane Brotherhood. [164.3s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. [166.2s] We are a Dungeons and what are we? [168.8s] We are a Dumbgeons and Dragons 5th edition actual play podcast who today are playing [173.8s] in the same room together. [175.0s] Hooray! [177.0s] It's weird. [179.0s] It's gonna be weird. [180.0s] Yeah. [180.6s] I'm your dungeon master Russ More and with me in person today is Tom Laird. [185.6s] Oh, he mixed it up. [186.6s] He was looking at you. [187.8s] She's always here in person with me. [189.4s] Okay. [189.8s] Hello, that's me. [191.0s] And Carla Johnson. [192.2s] Hello. [193.2s] And Amy More. [194.8s] Hi. [195.8s] You waved it. [197.2s] I did. [199.6s] Hi. [200.6s] I told this was a webcast. [201.8s] Is that on the case? [203.0s] No, no, no. [203.8s] We'll get there someday. [204.6s] We'll get settled. [205.8s] There was too much stuff in teeth. [207.0s] Okay, that was fair enough. [208.4s] Yeah, we'll be a snack. [209.2s] Yes. [209.8s] Apologies. [210.4s] We are stuffing our faces full of snacks. [212.4s] So yeah, good luck with that. [213.6s] Well, it's we haven't seen each other in a while. [215.2s] That's all we do together is just eat snacks. [217.4s] You guys want to stay for pizza? [218.6s] I hear Little Caesar's does stuffed crust snacks. [220.4s] What? [222.6s] I hear there's a better future plan. [223.4s] So much has changed. [224.6s] I know. [225.0s] Since you've been away. [226.0s] I know. [227.4s] Surely we are in the future now. [230.0s] Amazing. [230.4s] Little Caesar's not a sponsor, [231.6s] but you can give us a call. [232.4s] That's fine. [233.0s] Oh, yeah. [233.4s] We're all in Canada now. [234.4s] We can all enjoy. [236.8s] Enjoy might not be the right word. [238.8s] Hey, Little Caesar's trying to jam. [240.6s] Oh, sure. [241.4s] Get us food. [242.8s] That crazy bread's tasty though. [244.0s] That's a no for Little Caesar. [247.2s] We'll talk about it more. [248.2s] That's right. [249.0s] If you are, if this is your first episode jumping on with us, [251.8s] we are all in the same room. [253.0s] So the editing will be more difficult to do. [256.8s] It's usually much cleaner than this. [258.8s] And we apologize, but it'll be fun. [262.4s] So that's good. [264.4s] This is our first Patreon episode after of which we've asked you to sign up on Patreon. [269.6s] So our rewards begin and we're going to dedicate this episode to a random patron. [277.2s] And today it's Yago Vanny. [280.4s] Vanny. [281.4s] Yago Vanny. [283.0s] Thanks, Yago. [283.8s] Thanks, Yago. [284.6s] You're awesome. [285.4s] Wow. [286.6s] Do any of you know that person? [288.2s] He talks to me quite a lot on Twitter. [292.8s] There's one fucking powerful name. [294.6s] I just want to say it right. [296.2s] That's like you walk into the room and that's Yago. [300.2s] Will you arrive on your dragon is what it sounds like. [304.4s] Maybe. [306.0s] Yeah, Yago talks us up a lot on Twitter. [308.8s] Awesome. [309.2s] Thank you, Yago. [311.2s] So thank you very much for that and for contributing to our podcast. [314.6s] He's at the $5 level. [316.6s] So he gets chances for a dedication. [320.0s] Obviously, he won that one in this one and then also can contribute to a future [323.8s] Q&A episode, which we will do eventually. [327.0s] And like respect. [329.2s] About respect. [330.2s] Because you don't have to buy that now. [333.2s] For reals. [334.0s] Respect doesn't come for free. [335.6s] Anybody who does Patreon for us is blowing our mind. [338.9s] So thank you all. [340.2s] Yeah. [341.6s] Agreed. [343.2s] Yes. [344.5s] And then this is episode 21, guys. [347.7s] We've been doing this for two decades. [349.6s] Oh my God, our podcast can drink in the United States. [352.6s] Each episode is a year long, obviously. [355.4s] We let a year go by before we record again. [358.8s] That's how we test the dedication of our listeners. [361.6s] Are you still with us? [362.4s] It's 2018. [364.0s] So this may be a good point to do a little description of your characters again, [368.6s] because it's been a while. [370.2s] You always string these things on us. [372.8s] You should know your characters. [375.2s] No warning. [377.8s] He did it just so he could see all of us go. [380.2s] Free as DNA headlight style. [382.8s] Oh my God, Russ, every time. [385.2s] Well, you've been playing these characters for two years now. [388.6s] You think you know what you look like. [391.2s] I think I know my character. [392.9s] I can't remember if we've ever been on a train, but I know my character. [395.9s] You know, right? [396.9s] I didn't dream my little action figure that I normally have, [399.9s] so now I can't remember what I played. [402.3s] Oh, there we go. [403.1s] That's fun. [403.7s] It's always inside my dice container. [406.0s] The sword for mine is in my dice container. [408.3s] It's a symbol. [409.5s] It's symbolic. [409.9s] But the other one's on my desk, where I've worked. [412.9s] You usually play in work. [414.3s] Yeah. [415.8s] So who wants to start? [418.7s] Looks like Amy does. [419.5s] Amy, go. [421.0s] Who do you play? [421.7s] Amy, what's your deal? [427.9s] I play Thea Amastasia. [430.1s] I am a druid elf, elf druid. [435.6s] Is there a specific order you're supposed to say that? [437.5s] Probably elf druid. [438.3s] Elf druid. [439.5s] And I am badass. [443.1s] I like to kill and slash things a lot, [446.6s] but I'm getting more in touch with my druid self [449.2s] and my oneness with nature, figuring myself out. [455.3s] Now, finally, I feel like I'm in the teenage years, [457.8s] the way that I've kind of put my character. [461.6s] Look at the bio. [462.4s] I know, I'm trying to play. [467.0s] Things from here have disappeared. [469.4s] No, look at me, too. [470.5s] Have you ever put them in there? [471.6s] No, yet, like character appearance. [473.0s] My whole bio is empty. [476.4s] It's because you guys never film it. [477.8s] No, that's not it. [478.6s] It's on my paper one. [479.9s] Untrue. [484.4s] So elf, I'm awesome. [487.6s] I'm also a weed dealer. [489.1s] That's how I know Flynn. [490.3s] So because of PTSD, so it's all medicine. [494.5s] Nobody can freak out. [496.2s] And Nularaaa and I are totally buds [499.6s] after defeating an orc together, bond over battle. [502.5s] And I have this amazing book that I'm [505.8s] digging into trying to figure out [507.2s] more about my druid self and what that means for me. [511.1s] And mostly I'm just like trying not to die [516.3s] because I'm learning that you shouldn't be front line [520.1s] in a battle if you can't fucking swing a sword. [523.7s] And what do you look like? [524.8s] Mm. [527.8s] Wasn't that the whole exercise? [529.7s] Was it? [530.6s] Damn it. [532.1s] I'm an elf. [533.0s] I have pointy ears. [534.3s] I have bright green eyes and bluish white skin. [538.5s] That's almost like. [540.2s] I think you're pretty tall. [541.4s] I'm very tall. [542.4s] I'm 5'9". [543.6s] That's very tall to someone who's only 5'1". [546.6s] I'm 110 pounds because I put weight in here, I guess. [549.8s] So I'm tall and willowy, small nature-y and stuff. [555.2s] And my hair is a brilliant blue. [557.2s] But since I am a magical being, [559.1s] I can change my appearance when necessary. [563.1s] Sweet, good job. [564.3s] And I'm 200 years old. [567.4s] Well now, see, we can get people to draw pictures of us [569.9s] maybe because we actually described ourselves. [571.7s] That would be super fantastic. [573.3s] Not that we're soliciting that, [574.5s] but if you wanted to, we would appreciate it. [576.7s] Yeah, if there's anyone who can do fan art out there, [579.1s] that would be so. [580.3s] I would also like one of my character in Tom's [583.1s] the side-scrolling game because I think that Goliath [585.7s] picture that I have up there is super. [587.3s] Like nothing too titty. [588.6s] Oh, now you're going to get stuff that's titty [592.8s] if you're going to get it at all. [595.0s] Well, no, all the girls are all like super busty. [597.6s] If you could make any fantasy character not too titty, [602.4s] that would be unbelievable. [604.1s] 25% less titty. [605.4s] Trying to find pictures. [607.8s] Like when we started the side-scrolling game, [609.5s] I was trying to find a picture and everything was like, [612.0s] I'm uncomfortable looking at this. [614.0s] Like this was not for me. [616.0s] Well, and not to mention completely impractical. [618.9s] I would not be all open in the chest area in battle. [622.4s] Like, let's come on. [623.3s] I'm covered in armor. [624.4s] I'm a smart elf, you know. [628.7s] Smart elf. [629.9s] I'm a smart elf. [631.9s] Not like those Keebler elves. [633.9s] Smart elves. [635.2s] Who does baking in the middle of a tree? [637.7s] No, it's a recipe for disaster. [640.1s] Recipe pun intended. [642.6s] That's good. [644.0s] So yeah, some non-slutty character art would be fantastic. [648.5s] Just throwing that out there. [649.3s] I'm done. [652.1s] End of scene. [653.5s] I'm not eating film kits. [655.3s] All right, let's go down the line. [656.4s] Carla, who do you plan? [657.6s] What's your deal? [658.9s] And like the, and what's your deal? [661.5s] What's your deal? [663.3s] Russ's interviewing techniques. [665.0s] Solid. What's your deal? [666.7s] And then the person just talks. [667.9s] He's a real Terry Gross. [669.0s] I was a really great one there. [670.4s] What's your deal? [672.5s] It also makes you like immediately uncomfortable. [675.8s] You're like, I have a deal? [677.0s] What? [678.0s] What's my deal? [679.0s] I play Nulara Moonbrook. [681.5s] I am a human ranger. [683.0s] I'm also tall because I'm five foot ten. [686.5s] Since I'm five foot two in real life. [689.0s] So I was like, oh, I have to be tall. [692.0s] Five ten. [693.0s] Whoa. [697.5s] Pale dark hair. [699.0s] We're talking about looks. [701.0s] Pale dark hair. [704.0s] Pale face. [705.0s] Oh. [705.5s] Dark hair. [706.5s] Pale, comma, dark hair. [708.5s] Yes. [710.5s] I am quite gruff. [712.0s] I was a ranger. [713.5s] Lived in the woods alone for a long time. [716.5s] My politeness skills are a little lacking sometimes. [723.0s] You know you say, you're not polite, you're still polite. [725.5s] Well, it's hard. [726.5s] I think in real life, I try to be polite. [729.0s] It's hard to. [730.0s] Also Canadian. [731.0s] All Canadian cast. [732.0s] I feel like I need to apologize right now. [734.0s] We started this podcast with an apology. [736.0s] It's true. [738.0s] It's true. [739.0s] And I have a little buddy. [741.0s] I have a pseudo dragon. [743.0s] Who's like a cat-sized dragon, basically, named Donnie. [747.0s] Sometimes Russ does his voice with a great accent. [751.0s] Super great. [752.0s] It's really good. [753.0s] Maybe Donnie will talk this episode through. [755.0s] Maybe. [756.0s] We could probably get into some sort of shenanigans where he has to talk. [759.0s] Last time I drew attention to Donnie in that way, Russ almost killed him. [763.0s] It's purely accidental. [765.0s] I mean, I intended to aim for him. [767.0s] Accidental is like, yeah, let's hit Donnie with some shit. [769.0s] Accidental? [770.0s] He couldn't have known he had so many hit points. [772.0s] He does have the hit points, like, of a cat. [775.0s] I was just thinking, I was like, you know, Donnie never gets targeted by anything. [780.0s] It's true. [781.0s] He's always flying around, like, snipping at people's ears. [783.0s] And I took that opportunity to almost kill him. [786.0s] It's fair. [788.0s] You guys can heal things a little bit. [789.0s] You're good. [790.0s] When we remember. [792.0s] I have two spells I can heal. [795.0s] I'm eating a chip now, so I guess I'm done. [797.0s] You're done. [798.0s] Tom! [799.0s] That's your reward. [800.0s] It's a nice reward. [801.0s] I like it. [802.0s] I play Flint Firebeard. [803.0s] He's a short, because not like these other tallies over here. [806.0s] He's a dwarf champion fighter. [808.0s] A career background in the military, but his company went kind of more mercenary [814.0s] than military and he wasn't really digging it. [817.0s] Plus there's some PSTD issues as well. [822.0s] PTSD issues. [823.0s] I don't know what that is. [826.0s] No, there's some PTSD issues in his background, which is why he met Thea originally, [831.0s] because she would hook him up with some sweet, relaxing herb to take the edge off. [837.0s] And he's lawful good in alignment, so he always tries to do the right thing [842.0s] and rushes in kind of through the doors first, because he's a dwarf fighter [847.0s] and that's probably what he should be doing. [850.0s] That's about it. [851.0s] I'm not going to eat a chip because I've already been eating them constantly. [854.0s] That's fair. [856.0s] Oh, he's got a bitching beard too. [858.0s] Don't forget that. [859.0s] With the name of Firebeard. [860.0s] It's in the name. [861.0s] And a scar on his face. [863.0s] Anywhere you want it, it's fine. [867.0s] It's a floating scar. [868.0s] Just whatever you want. [869.0s] Like here. [870.0s] Putting that out there. [871.0s] There's probably not a lightning bolt in between his eyebrows, but anything else. [876.0s] Cool. [877.0s] I think the other part is probably an intellectual property of one JK Rowling. [881.0s] Probably. [882.0s] I would assume. [883.0s] Probably. [884.0s] We don't want to date him. [886.0s] Yeah, so we are playing through The Rise of Tiamat, [890.0s] which is from The Wizards of the Coast there. [893.0s] If you've started listening to us recently, we haven't really been doing it, [898.0s] I think, within the book since about episode 7. [900.0s] And now this is episode 21. [902.0s] So we're getting back there. [903.0s] We're getting back. [904.0s] There's some little side things that happened. [905.0s] Dress is steering us back. [907.0s] What was supposed to be a side quest? [909.0s] I mean, somebody had a great idea after that. [911.0s] I don't know who it was, but probably it was me. [914.0s] I'm going to go with Amy. [915.0s] Yeah. [916.0s] I think Amy had the great idea. [917.0s] Was it me? [918.0s] I don't know to what we're referring. [921.0s] It's all good. [922.0s] I think just in general. [923.0s] Wasn't your idea to do the podcast? [925.0s] It was. [926.0s] Great idea. [927.0s] Such a good idea. [928.0s] Such a long time ago. [929.0s] It was a joke. [930.0s] It was a hammered. [931.0s] It came true. [932.0s] I'm going to get really drunk, you guys. [934.0s] Yeah, you should probably make all your wishes come true. [936.0s] Isn't that the saying? [938.0s] A joke when you're hammered is a dream your wish made? [944.0s] No, a wish your heart made. [947.0s] A wish your heart made. [948.0s] A wish your heart made. [949.0s] Yes. [950.0s] Thank you. [951.0s] It's gone. [952.0s] I can't find the words in my head. [953.0s] Yeah. [955.0s] I know. [956.0s] Carla thought steering into the skid was a good idea, but it was not. [959.0s] Look on your hammer to dream your wish made. [962.0s] It's good. [963.0s] It just rolls off the top. [965.0s] So at one point we'll probably have merch, right? [967.0s] So that's going to be on a t-shirt somewhere. [969.0s] We have merch. [970.0s] Good segues. [971.0s] Oh. [972.0s] I'm sorry. [973.0s] No, segues are good. [975.0s] No. [976.0s] You're welcome. [977.0s] You're welcome. [978.0s] You know. [979.0s] Where do they go to get our merch? [982.0s] We're doing it, guys. [983.0s] They go to Redbubble. [986.0s] No. [987.0s] Well, you can, but easier. [989.0s] Go to dumbdragons.com and click our store button. [993.0s] You know what's even easier than that? [995.0s] Have Russ and Amy bring it to you when they move back from Korea. [998.0s] We got stickers. [999.0s] They look great. [1001.0s] They're awesome. [1002.0s] I'm too tired just seeing them in real life for the first time. [1005.0s] I have to decide where to put them. [1007.0s] I was thinking like on the back of my, because I got a bunch of radio station stickers on there, [1012.0s] but then I was like, no, I want to put that somewhere good. [1015.0s] I don't know if people are going to see this. [1017.0s] Ooh, laptop's a good choice. [1018.0s] Only if it's a new laptop. [1020.0s] Exactly. [1021.0s] I mean, if you're going to get rid of your MacBook in a year, I mean, you're just [1024.0s] going to have to buy a new sticker. [1026.0s] It's true. [1027.0s] Okay, I think we're done schlocking all our stuff, so we might as well get on [1030.0s] with the podcast. [1031.0s] That was amazing. [1034.0s] Amy just tried to sell me stickers. [1036.0s] Hope you noticed. [1037.0s] She said, if you get a new laptop, you'll have to buy a new sticker. [1041.0s] Well, that's fair. [1043.0s] Okay. [1044.0s] First one's free. [1045.0s] First one's free. [1046.0s] The first taste is free, as with any good dealer. [1048.0s] I can still get you a deal. [1049.0s] It's okay. [1051.0s] So yeah, you guys remember what happened last time? [1054.0s] We found some dinosaurs. [1056.0s] Yeah, we did. [1057.0s] And rode some dinosaurs. [1058.0s] I always forget. [1059.0s] This is, well, not surprising to anyone, probably who's ever listened to us before, [1063.0s] but, and then I look back at my notes and I'm like, oh yeah, we found dinosaurs [1069.0s] and rode them and became friends with them. [1071.0s] And it was amazing. [1074.0s] I turned into a dire wolf. [1075.0s] Yeah, you did. [1076.0s] You're a winter wolf. [1077.0s] Freezing wrath. [1078.0s] That was so good. [1079.0s] Anytime I turn into something though, the fight is over in like two more turns. [1083.0s] Yeah. [1084.0s] I think just keep doing it though. [1085.0s] And then you'll come into a fight where you actually get to like do that for a long time. [1088.0s] Maybe I'll turn into one like at the very beginning. [1090.0s] Like, oh, we fighting? [1092.0s] Like, what's that? [1093.0s] A noise in the woods? [1094.0s] Bam. [1095.0s] And then Russell will be like, it's a squirrel. [1098.0s] I catch the squirrel and I eat it. [1101.0s] The squirrel was actually the savior of the universe, so we're all doomed. [1107.0s] Yes, dinosaur riding, freeing other dinosaurs, and then shenanigans? [1113.0s] Yeah. [1114.0s] And then you came, you came upon the city of Luskin, which was your destination [1120.0s] since episode seven. [1122.0s] Success! [1123.0s] Yay, we're back! [1125.0s] We made it, you guys. [1127.0s] We made it. [1128.0s] So you exit the forest, and it's around dusk. [1133.0s] You exit the forest and you gaze upon what is the mouth of the river Marar, [1138.0s] which splits the city of Luskin into two sections. [1141.0s] North and a south. [1143.0s] They have a huge map on this TV here. [1146.0s] It's amazing. [1147.0s] I'll post a picture to the Patreon because, yeah. [1151.0s] On like the world's biggest TV right now. [1154.0s] It's a curved screen, I just realized. [1157.0s] This is the fanciest place I've ever been. [1159.0s] Like the sound bars. [1161.0s] This is insane. [1162.0s] What? [1163.0s] They're even behind us? [1168.0s] So you come upon the city of Luskin. [1172.0s] Sorry, Russ. [1173.0s] It's okay. [1174.0s] Russ is like, we're going to get two episodes out of this. [1178.0s] Sure we are. [1179.0s] Russ is remembering why you guys moved to Korea. [1182.0s] Now we're moving to Alberta maybe, so. [1185.0s] You're mobile. [1186.0s] It's true. [1187.0s] Perfect. [1188.0s] I'll see you there. [1189.0s] Excellent. [1190.0s] So you come upon the city of Luskin, which splits into two sections, the north [1193.0s] and the south. [1194.0s] And right in the middle stands the impressive host tower of the Arcane Brotherhood. [1199.0s] The tower, as you look upon it, resembles a tree with what now has three complete limbs [1207.0s] or spires. [1209.0s] And you can see growth of the fourth limb nearing completion, which the fourth limb [1215.0s] was where Aruthatar attacked and stole a bunch of books which you helped recover [1222.0s] fighting in his lair. [1224.0s] With my bag of holding. [1225.0s] Episode 7? [1226.0s] Why was this so long ago, you guys? [1228.0s] Six was your battle with Aruthatar. [1230.0s] I think almost every episode since then I've tried to use my bag of holding [1233.0s] and it goes, nope, you can't. [1235.0s] That's where I picked up those sweet ice cream eggs and then didn't use them [1238.0s] in the last 20 episodes. [1240.0s] Whoops. [1241.0s] The remainder of Luskin's makeup of buildings is no larger than two or three stories [1247.0s] in general. [1248.0s] There is another feature, however, that catches your eye as you approach the city [1253.0s] and it's to the north side of the city. [1255.0s] You see a small sized airship hovering above a section in the city, which you know [1263.0s] is in approximately the same area that is used by the dwarves in Luskin for storage [1270.0s] of dwarven weaponry and artifacts from Mithra Hall and Mirabar. [1276.0s] What do you want to do? [1278.0s] Do you want an aircraft? [1279.0s] I know, this is like... [1281.0s] While I'm here? [1282.0s] We have been trying for four years in real life, one year in game, to get [1290.0s] back here to find Makkoth and find out if the Arcane Brotherhood is going to help us, [1294.0s] but that airship sounds pretty dope. [1298.0s] Did Tabby bring it? [1299.0s] Is this a something that exists in this world? [1305.0s] You know that airships exist in the world and it's about dusk so it's getting pretty dark [1309.0s] so you can't see any noticeable markings on it that would tell you if it's part of a group [1313.0s] or anything like that. [1314.0s] Also, I love that I'm amazed at the airship. [1316.0s] We saw a fucking flying castle that was driven by a freaking giant. [1319.0s] This is true. [1320.0s] And we actually rode on it and crashed in it. [1324.0s] But like airships! [1325.0s] Whoa! [1327.0s] And trains? [1328.0s] Are there trains in this world? [1329.0s] I don't think so. [1330.0s] I've never been on one. [1334.0s] So you guys have been traveling all day down the river and fighting dinosaurs. [1338.0s] And you're in dusk. [1340.0s] Can I have all my hip points back? [1344.0s] We sleep up high and then you do? [1348.0s] This is the racist city, right? [1351.0s] Yeah, you were told by Macoth that other races other than humans, [1357.0s] which is mostly what makes up the bulk of Luskan, [1360.0s] look down upon most other races, [1362.0s] which is why you were avoided to perhaps deter it for now. [1366.0s] You were told by Leon and Glory Gem, however, in Mirabar [1372.0s] that they get in there fine all the time [1375.0s] and, you know, it's a rough city, but generally they have no problems. [1379.0s] Where's my horse? [1381.0s] Yeah, what about our horses? [1383.0s] You left your horses tied up in the trees outside of Little Rock. [1387.0s] Oh, God, that was... [1389.0s] I believe that Tiny probably wrestled himself and then helped Clip Clop get free and... [1397.0s] Buttercup? [1399.0s] I mean, where's my horse? I love it so much. [1402.0s] Of course I can't remember. [1405.0s] Okay, Little Rock, so that's a whole different place. [1408.0s] So yeah, probably like sleep overnight. [1411.0s] And remember, Little Rock was more than three and a half weeks ago [1415.0s] based on your time jump to Eden. [1418.0s] Well, I'm sure they got free. [1420.0s] In game, Russ told me last time, [1423.0s] we had been gone from Luskan for five or six weeks. [1428.0s] Do you remember saying that? [1430.0s] Well, yeah, based on... [1432.0s] In game, Russ told me. [1434.0s] You can say all sorts of shit. [1437.0s] You have the cred now. Look at all those notes. [1440.0s] From the day you arrived in Luskan after you fought Arithator, [1443.0s] which was in episode seven, you arrived. [1446.0s] From your travel to Little Rock, your dealings in Little Rock, [1449.0s] and then your travel to Mirabar, and then your subsequent time loss, [1453.0s] having traveled through the portal to Eden, [1456.0s] part of the Bros and Dragons podcast. [1459.0s] Check them out on our friends of page at dumbdragons.com. [1463.0s] Because they're great, too. [1465.0s] That was smooth. [1467.0s] And then travel back, it's been about that five to six week period [1472.0s] that you've been gone. [1474.0s] I say we just go straight to the host tower of the arcane. [1478.0s] Yeah, I mean, that's where... [1480.0s] We've put that off long enough, right? [1482.0s] I think we have. I mean, the ship is cool and whatever, [1484.0s] but apparently those... [1487.0s] Do what needs to be done. I want my bag of holding. [1490.0s] I want some answers. [1492.0s] Okay. [1493.0s] So you come up to the city, [1495.0s] and you come in on the south side of the river there, [1498.0s] passing by these stables, which are by the bridge there. [1502.0s] I thought you said staples, [1504.0s] and I was like, do we need office supplies? [1507.0s] That was easy. [1509.0s] But no, you pass by these stables, [1512.0s] where they keep horses. [1514.0s] Where we see... [1516.0s] You pass by, and you hear a call to you that says, [1519.0s] hey, you guys, where are my horses? [1523.0s] There's a short, disgruntled human male [1530.0s] who comes running out into the streets to you, [1532.0s] waving his finger, saying, where are my horses? [1535.0s] You're too far. I can't hear you. [1538.0s] He's right in front of you now. [1541.0s] I thought we were on the river. [1543.0s] How does he run out into the river? [1545.0s] We don't have a boat at this point anymore. [1547.0s] When did we get off the boat? [1549.0s] I think the dinosaurs sunk in. [1551.0s] Yeah, the dinosaurs sunk in. [1553.0s] You tried to fix it, [1555.0s] but then determined fighting was probably better. [1557.0s] Sorry, I thought when you said you come by the river, [1559.0s] I was like, we're still on boat. [1561.0s] No, you're on the south side of the river, [1563.0s] so walking along the trail to the south into the city there, [1565.0s] and you walk directly by the stables. [1567.0s] Right, where it says stables on the map. [1570.0s] I got you. [1572.0s] It's the first time we've had a cool map. [1574.0s] Where are my horses? [1576.0s] They're being well cared for at Little Rock. [1578.0s] Calm yourself, little man. [1580.0s] You were supposed to be back in just a few days, you told me. [1582.0s] We got transported to another dimension, calm down. [1585.0s] With my horses? [1587.0s] No, your horses are in Little Rock and they're fine. [1590.0s] I keep walking. [1592.0s] I also keep walking. [1594.0s] I'm just innocently whistling as we walk by. [1596.0s] He says, well, you guys owe me horses, [1599.0s] and I'm going to find someone who's going to come [1601.0s] and get my horses back from you. [1603.0s] And then he storms off. [1605.0s] Send them to Little Rock. [1607.0s] Where are the horses? [1609.0s] Don't know how many times we can tell you the same information. [1612.0s] Character voices are hard when we're all like right here. [1614.0s] Yeah. [1616.0s] Hold on, hold on, I just need to get breathy. [1620.0s] Whoa, messy. [1624.0s] Don't look at me. [1626.0s] Don't look at me. [1628.0s] So you guys passing along the bank? [1630.0s] Just straight into the tower? [1632.0s] We have a goal, we have a mission, apparently. [1635.0s] So you've got purpose to our walk. [1638.0s] There's a straight lane that cuts through right along the river, [1642.0s] and you follow that right to the market in Little Rock. [1648.0s] And it's dying down, but there's still market things happening. [1652.0s] There are a bunch of humans, [1655.0s] human males and females kind of about just kind of buying things, [1659.0s] foodwares and clothes and that sort of thing. [1661.0s] It's not foodware. [1663.0s] It's a different city, so you don't know. [1665.0s] No. [1667.0s] It's fashion. [1669.0s] It's food. It's foodware. [1671.0s] It's cheesecloth foodware. [1673.0s] Little Caesar's now offers the stuff crap. [1675.0s] Foodwares. [1677.0s] I'll eat the middle of the pizza, [1679.0s] leave the ring weird around my head like some sort of wreath of cheesy goodness. [1684.0s] But you pass through the market, [1686.0s] and you notice that people kind of look at you, [1691.0s] some with a little bit of disdain at your group, [1695.0s] some with a little bit of hatred, [1698.0s] and then they kind of just keep going. [1700.0s] Nobody seems to be starting anything with you, though. [1702.0s] And you come to the bridge, [1704.0s] which is to cross over to Kurth [1708.0s] and then pass through to the host tower of the arcane [1713.0s] with no issues. [1716.0s] And you go up to the door, [1718.0s] and it is locked. [1721.0s] I knock on the door. [1723.0s] And you wait for a little while, [1727.0s] but nobody seems to come to the door. [1729.0s] I unlock the door with my thieves' tools. [1732.0s] Whoa, this is a bold move for me. [1735.0s] Nat 20. [1739.0s] And that's Amy's only good roll of the episode. [1743.0s] It's done. I peaked, you guys. [1746.0s] You quite easily pull out your thieves' tools [1750.0s] and enter the building. [1753.0s] Turns out it was actually a push. [1755.0s] A door, and we were trying to pull it open. [1757.0s] A push door, yeah. [1759.0s] Thieves' tools just told you that you should push it. [1761.0s] But you unlock it, [1763.0s] and you walk in, and there are no torches lit inside. [1767.0s] There's no light of any sort. [1769.0s] You go into the main entrance area, [1772.0s] and the door slams shut behind you. [1776.0s] And you take a few steps forward, [1779.0s] and you come face to face with an invisible horse field. [1785.0s] Sounds about right. [1787.0s] God, Jesus, fuck! [1789.0s] And a sound begins blaring in the building. [1792.0s] It's music. [1793.0s] They have a damn party. [1795.0s] It's everywhere right now, you guys. [1797.0s] I've never heard that before. [1799.0s] Wow, welcome back to Canada. [1802.0s] You'll be sick of it soon. [1805.0s] Yeah, an alarm begins blaring through the building. [1808.0s] And you hear beyond another door, [1812.0s] which is just a little bit of ways ahead of you. [1814.0s] And you hear footsteps. [1816.0s] Sounds like armor-clad people running forward, [1821.0s] and they open the door, and there are two guards, [1825.0s] and one man dressed in very nice robes. [1831.0s] Foodwares. [1835.0s] I yell out, we knocked! [1839.0s] I mean, we did. [1840.0s] We did. [1841.0s] It's factually correct. [1842.0s] We rolled the tape back, or else we knocked. [1844.0s] You did not, yeah. [1845.0s] And the man speaks up, and he says, [1847.0s] Who are you, and why are you here? [1850.0s] This is... [1851.0s] I don't know what the who are you question is. [1853.0s] Always, always. [1854.0s] This is a question we can never answer, [1856.0s] even though we've been playing this for how long? [1860.0s] We are the guy. [1862.0s] You really gotta come up with a name. [1863.0s] We really do. [1864.0s] Clearly, we were not expecting you. [1866.0s] Where's MacArthur? [1867.0s] Where's my bag of holding? [1868.0s] How do you know MacArthur? [1870.0s] We delivered her to you. [1872.0s] You delivered her, didn't you? [1873.0s] And then you broke into the host tower after hours. [1877.0s] We knocked! [1879.0s] Also, we delivered her, like, seven weeks ago? [1881.0s] Yeah. [1882.0s] Well, whoever delivered her was supposed to be back many, many weeks ago. [1885.0s] Yeah, we know! [1886.0s] Presumed dead! [1887.0s] Presumed dead! [1888.0s] Hold, please. [1889.0s] I will be right back. [1890.0s] Presumed dead? [1891.0s] It's been six weeks. [1893.0s] Apparently, if you leave for a long time, you automatically die. [1896.0s] Presumed dead. [1897.0s] Good day to you. [1898.0s] It's been like a week. [1899.0s] They're probably dead, right? [1900.0s] Probably dead. [1901.0s] Yeah, probably dead. [1902.0s] She spent some time with us. [1904.0s] He storms out, and you are left in the room [1907.0s] with the two armor-clad guards who are each holding. [1910.0s] Has the alarm turned off? [1912.0s] Or is it like, [1914.0s] The alarm has ceased now that he's walked out. [1917.0s] Alright. [1918.0s] You are still, what you can tell, in the force-fielded area. [1922.0s] I flirt with the guards. [1923.0s] I make pleasant small talk with them, soldier to soldier. [1926.0s] I glare at them rudely. [1929.0s] Well, let's RP some of this out. [1931.0s] What do you do? [1932.0s] No, that was the pleasant small talk. [1937.0s] Pleasant small talk. [1938.0s] Pleasant small talk. [1940.0s] I don't make eye contact and say like, [1942.0s] How about the weather? [1943.0s] And then I just turn around. [1947.0s] I drag my finger up and down the force-field and go, [1949.0s] So, which one of you big men controls this? [1955.0s] Makes a constitution save throw. [1957.0s] Constitution? [1959.0s] It's a seven plus three. [1961.0s] It's the force-field. [1962.0s] I was like, what are they doing? [1963.0s] They're gonna zap? [1966.0s] Burdens! [1967.0s] You take two electrical damage. [1969.0s] God damn! [1974.0s] And he just kind of glares at you and he says, [1977.0s] We do not talk to thieves. [1979.0s] You just did. [1982.0s] Well, technically she's a druid, so. [1986.0s] Are they humans? [1987.0s] They're humans, yes. [1990.0s] Just kidding. [1992.0s] Doesn't change any approach. [1993.0s] You try. [1994.0s] I don't think they like my elfishness. [1997.0s] Oh, that's true. [1998.0s] Could be. [1999.0s] They just don't like elves. [2001.0s] Don't worry. [2002.0s] Flirt with them. [2003.0s] No, I'm definitely not going to do that. [2005.0s] I want to see what Nulara floating would be like, [2008.0s] You play sports? [2015.0s] Not even, like not even that subtle. [2018.0s] I'd be like, you, me. [2020.0s] We're gonna. [2021.0s] Let me drop this force-field. [2024.0s] You drop that force-field, I'll drop my pants. [2028.0s] Good trade. [2029.0s] It's a good trade. [2034.0s] Good. [2035.0s] So you guys just kind of stand there awkwardly staring at these guards. [2038.0s] Okay, you hear from. [2041.0s] You hear from beyond the door the same man saying. [2044.0s] And they say that they saved you and that they brought you back here [2047.0s] and they figured that those people were gone by now. [2050.0s] And Macoth and the gentleman in robes come back into the room [2054.0s] and she says, oh, shut up, Wilfred. [2058.0s] I'm sorry. [2059.0s] And she snaps her fingers and the field drops around you. [2064.0s] And says, these are the people who saved me. [2067.0s] Welcome, my friends. [2069.0s] Where have you been? [2071.0s] It's been weeks since I expected you to return. [2074.0s] So much has happened. [2076.0s] And we relay all the things that happened to her. [2078.0s] Yes, you do. [2079.0s] In very specific point order form. [2081.0s] And we're done with our recap. [2083.0s] Excellent, going forward now. [2085.0s] And what happened? [2086.0s] I'm sorry I didn't catch that. [2088.0s] We don't have to spell it out for you. [2090.0s] You don't have to go pee. [2092.0s] What a convenient excuse. [2095.0s] Gonna have to remember that one for later. [2097.0s] Oh, hold on, guys. [2099.0s] Gotta go get some more water. [2101.0s] There are three bathrooms in here, so you guys are done. [2104.0s] Our whole adventuring party's gonna be in the bathroom. [2108.0s] Every time Russ asks us a question. [2110.0s] I do have all my notes. [2112.0s] We left with the guy. [2114.0s] Maybe his name started with an L, can't remember. [2116.0s] To help his family. [2118.0s] And then we fought the creepy child ghost thing. [2122.0s] The Onis. [2124.0s] Thank you. [2126.0s] This is a really compelling story we're telling. [2129.0s] We're just point forming. [2131.0s] Yeah, exactly. [2133.0s] Then we teleported? [2136.0s] No. [2137.0s] Then we went to... [2139.0s] Where were we just? [2142.0s] Mirror Bar. [2144.0s] Mirror Bar. [2146.0s] We went to Mirror Bar. [2148.0s] Threw some chickens at a dragon. [2150.0s] Yeah, a dragon showed up. [2152.0s] Got teleported to a different place. [2154.0s] Flynn has a guy in his head. [2158.0s] Came back. [2160.0s] Fought the... [2162.0s] Brains in jars. [2164.0s] Crimsbane. [2166.0s] And he's still up there. [2168.0s] Doing some evil shit if you listen to the end of that one episode. [2172.0s] It didn't. [2174.0s] I heard it. [2176.0s] I was like, whoa, where did this come from? [2178.0s] There's like an extra special bonus. [2180.0s] I should really catch up. [2182.0s] But character knowledge, player knowledge. [2186.0s] Yesterday we fought some... [2188.0s] Not even yesterday. [2189.0s] Earlier today we fought some dinosaurs. [2191.0s] Now we're back, we're here. [2193.0s] Well, we saved the dinosaurs, yeah. [2195.0s] Well, you have had a fantastic journey. [2199.0s] What have you been doing? [2201.0s] What's up with you? [2203.0s] Well, I've convinced the Arcane Brotherhood that your cause was worthy, but then you disappeared. [2209.0s] So I'm going to have to revisit that with them. [2213.0s] They did seem willing to lend their efforts to help you in your fight against the Cult of the Dragon. [2219.0s] It shouldn't take long knowing that you've come back now, but there seems to be some issues that you need to address, so come with me. [2225.0s] And she leads you into... [2227.0s] Yeah, there's always issues with us. [2229.0s] Be more specific. [2233.0s] She leads you into the main building and it opens up into a grand entrance area with stairways leading to all different spires. [2241.0s] Are they like the stairways at Hogwarts? [2243.0s] I'm just thinking that. [2245.0s] This is like our second JK Rowling. [2247.0s] We're already stealing intellectual property. [2249.0s] What's up, JK? [2251.0s] Tweet at me. [2253.0s] They look exactly like that, changing one minor thing to make sure that the copyrights are legit. [2257.0s] They're actually made out of wood. [2259.0s] Same exact music that plays, just like a key difference. [2263.0s] One note variance. [2265.0s] And she says, you say you teleported to another world, and you have somebody in your head? [2271.0s] Yes. [2273.0s] How did that come to be? [2275.0s] How did that come to be? [2277.0s] Well... [2279.0s] We were trying to make our way back to Fate Rune. [2283.0s] And then you chopped my head off, you hear in your head. [2285.0s] From Eden, I do believe it was called. [2287.0s] They don't hear. [2289.0s] We had to make a sacrifice. [2293.0s] One of the adventurers we were adventuring with chopped someone's head off, unexpectedly. [2299.0s] It wasn't us. [2301.0s] And I got stuck with Bort in my head. [2303.0s] And you got that cool electricity breath. [2305.0s] You got that cool lightning breath now. [2307.0s] And then you hear in your head, Flint, you mean we're best buddies, right? [2311.0s] Not stuck in your head. You mean we're best buddies. [2313.0s] We're cool, but we both know you're stuck in my head. [2317.0s] You just hear him talking to himself. [2319.0s] We're probably used to him by this point. [2321.0s] It's really just a mutter under my breath. [2325.0s] She says, well, it's been a while since we've had to deal with two souls in one body, [2331.0s] and we do know ways to separate that. [2333.0s] I'll look into that further. [2335.0s] If that's what you desire, or if you wish to keep your lightning breath. [2339.0s] Let me check with Bort. [2341.0s] What's up, Bort? [2343.0s] Are you cool with separating, or do you want to stick around? [2345.0s] I'd like to be gone. [2347.0s] Yeah, that's fair. [2349.0s] So she says, I will gladly look into that for you. [2353.0s] That'd be great. [2355.0s] And she leads you into what you can assume is her chambers, [2359.0s] and she reaches to her table and hands you, Thea, your bag of holding. [2365.0s] I go, ha, ha, ha. [2367.0s] Clutch it tightly. [2369.0s] You cannot put it into your equipment, or unless you've already had it there. [2373.0s] You put it on the ground, kind of climb in a little bit. [2379.0s] It's all just been for a bit the whole time. [2381.0s] That's the only reason she wants it. [2383.0s] So you're in front of a cough. What do you need? [2387.0s] What can we do to help you convince the Arcane Brotherhood to help us? [2392.0s] I mean, seriously, we've been gone for six weeks. [2395.0s] It's not that long. [2397.0s] I know there's trains in this world, but there's... [2401.0s] But that's about all I know. [2403.0s] I don't even know that. [2405.0s] That's like the most rapid transit that exists. [2407.0s] I don't know how fast you expected us to get back. [2409.0s] That's why there are airships. [2411.0s] Oh, there's no way there's airships in this world. [2413.0s] No. We'll get to the airship. [2415.0s] Don't you worry. [2417.0s] She says, well, we were expecting you within a few days, as you had originally entailed. [2424.0s] And in the time of much trouble, since you've been gone, [2428.0s] there have been many things that have been popping up with the Cult of the Dragon. [2431.0s] And we figured you might have gotten wrapped up in one of those, [2435.0s] and perhaps something had happened to you, as nobody had heard from you, [2439.0s] from any of our mutual allies. [2443.0s] But you did have a super sweet vision about the Cult of the Dragon. [2447.0s] Did I? [2449.0s] I think so. Didn't you? [2451.0s] Yeah. In a kitchen. [2455.0s] I remember you super really specific, not helpful information. [2459.0s] No, this was... [2461.0s] It was after I got the book, and there was all sorts of stuff about like... [2465.0s] Oh, about you guys running into that building and stuff? [2467.0s] I went to a different kitchen. [2469.0s] I'm alone in a burning city watching myself. [2472.0s] Seems like a memory, but not one I can recall. [2475.0s] This is super point form. [2477.0s] Your notes are really good, by the way. [2479.0s] Yeah, but listen, this literally is a note here that's like, [2482.0s] ask Ross what the thing... [2484.0s] Because it was like a poem and all this stuff, and I couldn't write it down fast enough. [2487.0s] I meant more so the vision where it was like the cult gaining in strength. [2494.0s] Oh god, did I have two visions? [2496.0s] Or whatever, and everything looked a little bit darker, or whatever it was. [2499.0s] We both just felt that something in the world, the energy, something shifted. [2505.0s] That's what I meant. [2506.0s] As soon as you came back through the portal, you felt like a shift in the end. [2511.0s] But yeah, that other vision totally happened too. [2513.0s] And she was in the kitchen. [2515.0s] With Diana. [2517.0s] And she says you have... [2519.0s] We were in a tunnel. [2520.0s] And she says you... [2521.0s] We were in the tunnel. [2522.0s] Shit. [2523.0s] It wasn't when you were in the tunnel. [2524.0s] Yes, no, I had alligators. [2526.0s] Was there like a hot plate in the tunnel and Amy just got confused? [2529.0s] Maybe. [2530.0s] Maybe. [2531.0s] It was the tunnel with all the snack machines and stuff where soldiers would get their snacks. [2535.0s] That was nicknamed the kitchen. [2536.0s] So it's basically the kitchen. [2537.0s] And they weren't trying to break down the wall, they were just trying to get their snacks. [2541.0s] I see. [2542.0s] Totally makes sense. [2543.0s] I can relate to that. [2544.0s] Of course. [2545.0s] You have visions, do you? [2548.0s] How long have those been going on for? [2550.0s] Hey there, popcorn. [2552.0s] Did you just put eight in your mouth? [2554.0s] Answer the question now. [2555.0s] Yes. [2558.0s] I thought you were taking a break. [2560.0s] No, you already started it back up. [2562.0s] It's no break. [2563.0s] So sneaky. [2564.0s] No, one of those servants had brought in an appetizer platter, right? [2569.0s] Yeah, obviously, yeah. [2571.0s] Snappies. [2572.0s] You're Chicago-style popcorn, my lady. [2576.0s] I knew Lauren was just having food in her mouth. [2578.0s] Is this filo pastry? [2580.0s] This is delicious. [2582.0s] Look at the little spanic openers. [2587.0s] Kind of always. [2589.0s] Like, as long as the Cult of the Dragon's been active, I've been seeing glowing dragon eyes in my dreams. [2598.0s] This one was a bit different, though. [2600.0s] It was very explicitly seemed like I was seeing the future. [2607.0s] Looked bad. [2608.0s] Looked pretty bad. [2610.0s] Sounds like it. [2611.0s] Your powers, I feel, might be stronger than you know. [2614.0s] I feel like you tried to tell me this before. [2617.0s] I brushed you off. [2619.0s] You certainly did. [2620.0s] One hundred percent, that's what happened. [2623.0s] Huh, neat. [2624.0s] Kind of a dick move. [2626.0s] Anyway, so my flaming sword. [2631.0s] Once you're done on your journey, you may want to come visit us and look into those more. [2638.0s] I won't stop you now. [2640.0s] Note. [2643.0s] Literally. [2644.0s] Eighteen million years from now when we're done. [2647.0s] Is this going to be one of those notes that we like totally specifically ask about and then completely forget? [2653.0s] Odds are. [2655.0s] I normally have a different colored pen to make note of important things. [2659.0s] I don't have that. [2661.0s] Sorry. [2662.0s] Nothing that's getting me down. [2665.0s] You want stationary supplies? [2667.0s] I got stationary supplies. [2668.0s] At your back. [2670.0s] And she goes on to say that the higher ups here at the Arcane Brotherhood will not be back or ready to speak until tomorrow morning. [2679.0s] Well, are they what? [2680.0s] Not ready to speak? [2681.0s] Are they not back? [2682.0s] Are they gone? [2683.0s] Are they here? [2684.0s] They will not be speaking to anybody. [2686.0s] Meetings adjourned for the day. [2690.0s] Five p.m. [2691.0s] Five p.m. [2692.0s] They have regular hours to keep bankers hours, you know. [2694.0s] Is this like one of those silent retreats where they just like don't talk for days at a time? [2698.0s] Hard knock life. [2700.0s] But they will return in the morning and I can discuss with them your return and helping along the way. [2707.0s] There are many places where you can be put up within the city of Luskin through the night. [2713.0s] One thing I should mention, though, is you might have seen the airship. [2719.0s] I feel like that's for you. [2722.0s] There's a disgruntled old man who says he was sent by the Guild of the Nine Shadows and he hasn't left in weeks. [2731.0s] Is it Salazar? [2733.0s] It's not the name he gave me. [2736.0s] Did you happen to fight someone with him and then at the last minute he just like killed them when you did all the damage? [2742.0s] No. [2743.0s] There was no fighting. [2747.0s] But he says he's not to leave until he reconnects with you three. [2751.0s] And even though it was presumed that you were dead or presently otherwise occupied, he has just been hovering above the city. [2759.0s] How long has he been there for? [2761.0s] Weeks. [2762.0s] So he's going to be super happy that we finally showed up. [2765.0s] Yeah. [2766.0s] Let's go see this guy. [2767.0s] What name did he give you? [2769.0s] The name? [2771.0s] Grancis? [2772.0s] Grancis, I believe, was his name. [2774.0s] That sounds like that sounds made up. [2777.0s] This is what I thought. [2778.0s] This is why I was concerned with him hovering above the city. [2781.0s] But we have allowed him to stay over in the Dwarven area. [2785.0s] I take your narrative and I spit on it. [2789.0s] Sounds like a fake name. [2790.0s] Grancis. [2792.0s] George. [2793.0s] George Glass. [2795.0s] It's Jan's fake boyfriend on the Brady Bunch. [2797.0s] Of course. [2798.0s] Thanks, Dom. [2800.0s] Thanks for that super topical reference. [2804.0s] That's current. [2805.0s] That's a current reference. [2806.0s] Right? [2807.0s] Before any of us were even alive. [2808.0s] That's correct. [2809.0s] Is that what you were watching today? [2810.0s] I'll know that forever. [2811.0s] No. [2812.0s] I was watching the Little League World Series. [2813.0s] Thank you very much. [2814.0s] Because I had nothing to do until Carla showed up. [2817.0s] Thank God she was early. [2818.0s] So if you could help me get out of the city, that would be super great. [2823.0s] But yes, if there's anything else you require from us, I will look into the removal of the soul a little bit more before you return tomorrow. [2834.0s] And see what we can do there. [2836.0s] Otherwise, all right, your visions. [2839.0s] Well, what period were you gone in the portal? [2843.0s] Like three weeks, I think. [2844.0s] Three weeks here time. [2846.0s] Yeah, but it was only like a day, wasn't it, or something, in the portal? [2849.0s] Time was different there. [2851.0s] During that time, there have been rumors that the Red Wizards of Bay have been amassing for the Cult of the Dragons. [2864.0s] We don't know where, but the timeline coincides with the feeling you say you received, Nularaaa and Thea, with the change from good to evil. [2881.0s] So they may be working towards the next step in opening the dimensional barrier between the nine hells and here to return Tiamat. [2893.0s] Return Tiamat to the world. [2895.0s] How many hands? [2896.0s] Nine. [2897.0s] We should probably stop that. [2899.0s] Agreed. [2901.0s] That is what you know you've been fighting for, yes? [2904.0s] Yes. [2905.0s] Good. [2906.0s] Just making sure we're all on the same page. [2908.0s] Let's go see Granson. [2910.0s] Grancis. [2912.0s] Grancis. [2914.0s] Let's go see him. [2915.0s] Let's get out of their hair. [2917.0s] We'll talk in the morning. [2918.0s] Of course. [2919.0s] Unless we get whisked away on this ship. [2921.0s] Ever think of that? [2922.0s] Like, oh, what if we don't come back for like seven more weeks? [2924.0s] He's been here for three weeks. [2925.0s] Whatever he's here for must not be a huge urgency. [2928.0s] Well, someone just said that. [2930.0s] Well, someone just said that. [2931.0s] At least someone was happy that we were going to come back at some point. [2935.0s] Alright, so we want to run over to the airship? [2937.0s] Yeah. [2938.0s] So you head back out and back through the city. [2942.0s] You pass across, there's a bridge right at the market there, passing to the north side of the city, which is where you see the airship hovering. [2951.0s] As you get closer, you see an insignia on it. [2955.0s] Tell me what that insignia is. [2958.0s] Oh, God. [2960.0s] It's not a unicorn pointing left. [2963.0s] It's not something you've seen before. [2964.0s] Okay, God, I was like, I have to go back through one year's worth of notes to find the insignia. [2970.0s] It's a... [2972.0s] It's one of those ink blots I couldn't... [2975.0s] It's open to interpretation. [2979.0s] It's actually a magic eye puzzle that you can't see what's in there because it's broken. [2985.0s] But then once you do see it, though, you cannot see it. [2987.0s] Okay, fair enough. [2988.0s] True. [2989.0s] And what we see in the magic eye puzzle is... [2993.0s] There's no right or wrong answer. [2994.0s] A big eye. [2995.0s] Just tell me what you see. [2996.0s] Just one eye. [2997.0s] It's very meta. [2998.0s] Big eye. [2999.0s] Eye. [3000.0s] In the magic eye. [3001.0s] You see a magic ink blot eye in the eye. [3004.0s] I saw Amy drop popcorn, that was pretty great. [3006.0s] Three pieces. [3007.0s] It was like they exploded out of your hands. [3011.0s] So what did you see? [3012.0s] I got excited. [3013.0s] You saw a magic eye? [3014.0s] A big eye. [3015.0s] A big eye. [3016.0s] Yeah, just a single eye. [3019.0s] So the letter eye? [3020.0s] So there's a symbolism we can throw in there. [3022.0s] A line with a dot over it. [3024.0s] Me a capital I, come on. [3026.0s] You see the symbol, a large single eye, and you know that that is the symbol of the Guild of the Nine Shadows. [3035.0s] You saw it. [3036.0s] The Guild of the Nine Shadows. [3040.0s] Are you sure there was no wrong answers? [3042.0s] There was no wrong answers. [3045.0s] No wrong answers. [3047.0s] So you know that having, you know, McAuth having told you that Grants has said he was sent by the Guild of the Nine Shadows. [3055.0s] You can call him whatever you want when you get on board as long as he doesn't fight you for it. [3058.0s] I will, it's gonna be granny. [3059.0s] Now seeing the symbol, which you said you, which you have seen around your time with the Guild of the Nine Shadows, [3067.0s] you know that this airship should in theory be sent from Salazar or someone else at the Guild. [3073.0s] And you pass through the city and you walk by the Red Dragon Trading Post, [3078.0s] which is the largest building on the north side of the city. [3082.0s] And there is a ruckus activity happening out there. [3087.0s] There's people getting in like fistfights. [3090.0s] It looks like there's drinking and partying. [3093.0s] Is there cavorting? [3094.0s] There's cavorting, all the cavorting. [3097.0s] It looks like perhaps a group has just returned from a caravan transport or something. [3105.0s] Remember our days caravan from long ago. [3108.0s] But you walk closer to where the airship is and you come to a large gate that is guarded by one dwarf. [3116.0s] And he says, what's your business here? [3119.0s] What's your business here? [3120.0s] My business is to protect all this business. [3122.0s] What's your business here? [3123.0s] My business is to be up in your business. [3125.0s] I was super hoping he was just going to repeat everything and send back to him again. [3129.0s] And I was like. [3131.0s] He started talking. [3133.0s] That's fair. [3134.0s] We are here. [3136.0s] We need a name. [3137.0s] We need a fuck. [3138.0s] We are the three. [3141.0s] So original. [3145.0s] It seems like very presumptuous. [3149.0s] We are the three. [3154.0s] Pals. [3156.0s] We are the three best friends ever. [3162.0s] I'm bored the whole time. [3163.0s] Four. [3164.0s] Four. [3165.0s] Four digits. [3166.0s] God damn it. [3167.0s] What's your business here? [3169.0s] I think your business is waiting for us. [3171.0s] That's what we heard. [3172.0s] I don't know who you are. [3174.0s] Who are you waiting for? [3175.0s] I'm not waiting for anybody. [3176.0s] I'm here guarding all the dwarven stuff that we've got back here. [3179.0s] Now, what are you doing here? [3181.0s] I'm here to see a man on an airship. [3184.0s] Trying to get to that airship. [3186.0s] Oh, you're here with the airship. [3188.0s] Well, I wouldn't say that. [3190.0s] We heard that the person with the airship was looking for us. [3194.0s] All right. [3195.0s] We don't have anything better to do. [3197.0s] Good. [3198.0s] We don't have a name for our group. [3200.0s] Maybe that means he'll be like, Benny! [3202.0s] Benny, get over here! [3204.0s] And another dwarf in armor walks up to the gate. [3207.0s] Is his name Benny? [3208.0s] Benny. [3209.0s] Ah, too bad. [3210.0s] He's just doing a lot of stretches. [3214.0s] More of a Gumby figure. [3217.0s] Can you take these guys to the airship? [3219.0s] Maybe he'll leave after that, okay? [3221.0s] And he opens the gate and leads you guys to the airship. [3226.0s] So you're walking through all of these storage buildings back to the airship. [3232.0s] And you get to it. [3234.0s] And he calls up and he says, Grancis! [3237.0s] Some people are here for you! [3240.0s] And we hear some scuffling about. [3244.0s] Man, he pokes his head over the edge. [3246.0s] And it's a human male, balding. [3249.0s] Picard-style balding, but with hair solid here. [3252.0s] Oh! [3253.0s] That was unexpected. [3255.0s] And he says, Oh! [3259.0s] You guys are back! [3260.0s] You guys are back! [3261.0s] It's been weeks! [3263.0s] I can't believe you're here! [3265.0s] Is it very super light? [3267.0s] That came up in reference one time and now he's going to work him in? [3272.0s] And he runs back into the airship and then you see a ladder just fly over the edge. [3277.0s] He says, Come on up! [3279.0s] Okay. [3281.0s] They go first because I'm slow on ladders, because I'm tiny. [3285.0s] Maybe you go first and we push up. [3288.0s] Your little dwarf bomb. [3290.0s] Come on down! [3293.0s] It's a little hot, like he can't reach, it's not all the way. [3296.0s] I need a little boost. [3297.0s] Do a little one of these. [3298.0s] You climb in and you see him kind of frantically running about the airship, [3302.0s] flipping knobs and turning things and saying, It's time to go! [3305.0s] Oh! Oh! Whoa! Whoa! [3308.0s] I've been waiting here for weeks! [3309.0s] What do you mean we can't go? [3311.0s] No. [3312.0s] Who are you? [3313.0s] I'm Grancis. [3314.0s] Ugh. [3316.0s] Is it like a dirgeable or is it like a flying ship? [3323.0s] Is it blue? [3324.0s] Or is it like a ship? [3325.0s] It's like a zephyr. [3327.0s] It's like a ship with a large balloon covering it in the air. [3333.0s] So like Stardust style? [3335.0s] More so. [3336.0s] Okay. [3338.0s] Whoa, whoa, whoa. [3340.0s] Whoa. [3341.0s] Grancis. [3342.0s] Who sent you? [3343.0s] Obviously. [3344.0s] Brotherhood. [3345.0s] Why? [3346.0s] Brotherhood? [3347.0s] Who's the brotherhood? [3348.0s] Guild. [3349.0s] Guild of the Brothers. [3350.0s] Guild of the Brothers. [3351.0s] Are you who you say you are? [3353.0s] Yes, but it's been a long travel day. [3355.0s] Somebody else talk. [3356.0s] See ya! [3357.0s] He holds up kind of like a torchlight to your face. [3360.0s] Alright. [3361.0s] Even though he's never met you. [3362.0s] I would hope that he would hold up like a pencil sketching of you and be like, [3366.0s] Well, I didn't really nail your eyes, but the rest is theirs. [3369.0s] If I covered the nose, it would look like you. [3372.0s] Salazar sent me a while ago. [3375.0s] You disappeared, so he sent me to your last known location. [3378.0s] And I got word from him a little while ago that you showed back up in Mirabar with [3383.0s] some portal shit happening. [3384.0s] But he told me to wait here because he knew you'd be coming back above this [3387.0s] ring. [3388.0s] So we're here. [3389.0s] Let's go. [3390.0s] Nope. [3391.0s] Nope. [3392.0s] Nope. [3393.0s] Okay, first off, where do you want us to go? [3394.0s] We've got to go down the Serpent Hills area. [3396.0s] They're Wormspeaker, White Mountain. [3399.0s] So like option two that you gave us like way back when? [3403.0s] We've got to get there quick. [3404.0s] Well, you've been waiting for three weeks. [3406.0s] We have some business. [3407.0s] We have an appointment at 9 a.m. [3409.0s] Yes. [3410.0s] That's true. [3411.0s] That we are seven weeks late. [3413.0s] Well, it's good they could sneak you in so quickly then, I guess. [3418.0s] I hear they're all booked up. [3419.0s] There was a cancellation. [3420.0s] Yeah. [3421.0s] Fair enough. [3422.0s] Fair enough. [3423.0s] I mean, the system around here is just overbooked with people waiting. [3426.0s] All right. [3427.0s] So you're going to stay the night then? [3429.0s] Yes. [3430.0s] Cool down. [3431.0s] Relax. [3432.0s] Okay. [3433.0s] Good. [3434.0s] Somewhere we can sleep here? [3436.0s] Yeah, I guess. [3437.0s] You okay, buddy? [3438.0s] We really took a wind on his side. [3441.0s] I know. [3442.0s] Hey, when we go back, can we fly over the little rock? [3445.0s] That's kind of in the other direction there, but I guess. [3448.0s] We should get our horses, you guys. [3450.0s] Can the horses come on the airship? [3452.0s] One is gigantic. [3455.0s] We are going to fly over these horses and they're just going to be two small pony bodies [3460.0s] and a giant horse body just skeletonized. [3463.0s] Yes, if they're still there, they're not alive. [3465.0s] My horse might be eating your horses. [3467.0s] It's entirely possible. [3468.0s] I assume they chewed free of their ropes and are now living as free horses. [3473.0s] Anyway. [3474.0s] The rest is looking thrilled. [3475.0s] Maybe we can pick up our horses. [3477.0s] Horses. [3478.0s] Yeah, we can probably fit some horses in here. [3481.0s] What if the horses chewed their way free and have teamed up with the dinosaurs we freed [3486.0s] and are now like totally kicking ass somewhere? [3489.0s] That sounds nice. [3491.0s] We don't have a good life for horses, I feel like. [3494.0s] I feel like we should maybe go return that one. [3496.0s] Oh, I care about that guy. [3498.0s] Who's that guy? [3499.0s] I don't even remember that guy. [3501.0s] Just don't say anything. [3503.0s] I never remember anything. [3504.0s] We've written something down. [3506.0s] I'm going to punish us later for this. [3508.0s] No, I'm just going to write that I'm going to release a bloopers episode as a Patreon [3512.0s] bonus content on this one. [3514.0s] Because it's going to be longer than that. [3517.0s] The next actual episode is going to be so delayed because Russ is going to have to [3521.0s] comb through this garbage. [3523.0s] It's solid gold. [3525.0s] Solid gold. [3526.0s] Yeah, that's what I meant. [3528.0s] In fact, I'm pretty sure that's what I said. [3532.0s] Also, there's totally cheesecakes in that fridge upstairs. [3535.0s] Yeah, true. [3538.0s] Yeah, but we figure out what you're doing for the night. [3541.0s] We're bunking here. [3543.0s] Okay. [3544.0s] Do we trust Grancis? [3547.0s] I like to pretend he has a fake name. [3549.0s] Grancis. [3551.0s] I even keep writing it in quotes. [3554.0s] I don't know why. [3555.0s] Is he who he says he is? [3557.0s] This would be my concern. [3558.0s] Grancis? [3559.0s] He really wants to leave. [3560.0s] We don't know this dude exactly. [3562.0s] He's just going to take off with us in the airship. [3564.0s] I think we could just set up camp below the airship. [3567.0s] For sure. [3568.0s] Let's do that. [3569.0s] We don't mind sleeping outdoors. [3571.0s] What if we just tied the airship to a tree and then forgot about it for seven weeks? [3575.0s] What if we tied him up in the airship and then forgot about him for seven weeks? [3579.0s] Oh. [3581.0s] And threw him in the convenience store. [3584.0s] There's a river right there. [3586.0s] Are we talking about this in front of him? [3588.0s] Yeah, I'm assuming so. [3590.0s] I don't like you guys. [3592.0s] I'm pretty sure we do a lot of our talking just in front of people. [3595.0s] Not just out of character. [3599.0s] So you're staying here? [3600.0s] What are you doing? [3601.0s] We can go see your horses or whatever and have fun. [3603.0s] Sure. [3604.0s] Whatever. [3606.0s] Hey Grancis. [3608.0s] Thanks for waiting for us. [3610.0s] We appreciate it. [3612.0s] We're going to camp underneath the ship. [3614.0s] You can't camp down there. [3616.0s] I tried already. [3617.0s] Says who? [3618.0s] Says the dwarves? [3619.0s] Says the dwarves. [3620.0s] They say you can't camp anywhere. [3622.0s] Let me go talk to those dwarves. [3624.0s] Alright, they got sensitive materials and stuff. [3626.0s] Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine. [3628.0s] Alright. [3629.0s] He's got a belt. [3630.0s] I got a belt. [3631.0s] It's fine. [3632.0s] There's things and stuff, but whatever. [3633.0s] You guys camp. [3634.0s] Alright, see you later then. [3635.0s] So I shimmy back down that ladder. [3637.0s] You guys coming with? [3638.0s] Sure. [3639.0s] Excellent. [3640.0s] Well, maybe we stay up here and let him do some talking first. [3642.0s] Like some dwarf to dwarf talking. [3644.0s] Yeah. [3645.0s] Little D to D. [3646.0s] But I'm sure that's not what that means. [3649.0s] That's totally pretty sure that's what that is. [3654.0s] So I go and talk to whatever the dwarf, I don't remember his name. [3657.0s] Did he have a name? [3658.0s] Bendy? [3659.0s] Bendy? [3660.0s] Is that the letter there? [3661.0s] Bendy. [3662.0s] Sure, Bendy. [3663.0s] Alright, I go talk to... [3664.0s] I definitely get the D to D. [3665.0s] Right? [3666.0s] I go talk to... [3668.0s] I go talk to Bendy. [3670.0s] Oh, and I want to see about the camping situation nearby. [3681.0s] Russ is never going to hang out with us. [3685.0s] Russ, this is killing Russ. [3687.0s] We are killing Russ. [3689.0s] You guys are much more restrained when we're on the Skype call. [3692.0s] We're not full of sugar. [3694.0s] It's true. [3695.0s] It's my fault, it's my fault. [3698.0s] So yeah, Bendy is waiting down at the bottom there for you. [3703.0s] Alright. [3704.0s] Bendy, are we able to camp down here? [3708.0s] No, no, we got to... [3711.0s] It's very... [3713.0s] No. [3714.0s] Okay, why not? [3716.0s] Because I mean we've got stuff here that we're trying to guard and we don't want [3719.0s] to know you, so... [3721.0s] Come on, you know us. [3722.0s] We're not down here. [3724.0s] Stop trying to make it happen. [3727.0s] I'm going to roll a persuasion check. [3731.0s] Oh my god, dice. [3732.0s] I know, right? [3733.0s] It's been so long since Amy rolled that nat 20. [3736.0s] It was glorious. [3737.0s] I got into that building. [3739.0s] Okay. [3740.0s] Don't have my belt stats written down here. [3743.0s] I think it just gives me... [3745.0s] I'm pretty sure it just adds... [3747.0s] Belt of Dwarven Kind. [3748.0s] Your constitution score is increased by 2 to a maximum of 20. [3751.0s] You have advantage on Charisma, Persuasion, so you have advantage. [3754.0s] Excellent. [3755.0s] So I can roll again. [3757.0s] Perfect. [3758.0s] That's even better. [3759.0s] So that is 16 on my persuasion. [3763.0s] We got a minus one. [3766.0s] I'm not very charismatic, but that belt really helps when talking to Dwarves. [3770.0s] Dwarves really like you. [3772.0s] Yeah. [3773.0s] It says, you can't, but if they find out that I let you, I could get in some [3778.0s] trouble, man. [3779.0s] I mean... [3780.0s] Well, you guys have someone guarding it at all times, right? [3783.0s] Yeah, but they don't like people just loitering about. [3786.0s] They let him stay because he had some sort of pass or something like that from some [3790.0s] higher up guy. [3791.0s] I don't want to get into who had a pass to do what, because that's been a hot [3796.0s] button topic in the news lately. [3799.0s] The crazy Nazis in Charlottetville were apparently okay because they had a pass. [3803.0s] They had like a permit to be there. [3805.0s] I mean, he had like a... [3806.0s] I agree with that. [3807.0s] Yeah. [3808.0s] I mean, he had like some regulation from, you know, some higher up guy. [3812.0s] Not a pass. [3813.0s] Not a pass. [3814.0s] Anyway, that's why we've let him stay here. [3816.0s] But I'd have to check with my boss. [3819.0s] I don't know. [3820.0s] I'd let you stay if it was me. [3822.0s] Is there an inn somewhere? [3823.0s] I don't know why you guys like... [3826.0s] I just wanted someone to roll. [3828.0s] I'm bored of all of this. [3829.0s] Let's go to an inn. [3830.0s] Get an inn recommendation. [3832.0s] Grantson-sis? [3833.0s] No, this is Bendy. [3835.0s] Grantson-sis? [3836.0s] What are you talking about? [3837.0s] Oh, I'm not down there with you. [3838.0s] Okay, that's better. [3839.0s] Yeah, that's right. [3840.0s] I yelled down to you. [3841.0s] Oh, okay. [3842.0s] To ask Bendy. [3843.0s] Exactly. [3844.0s] I put my hand to my mouth. [3847.0s] I put my hand to my mouth. [3849.0s] Is there a good inn around here? [3851.0s] Yeah, I mean, I recommend staying at the Cutlass. [3853.0s] It's probably the best one in the area. [3855.0s] It's busy, but they probably have a room for you at the very least. [3858.0s] How come it's not on the... [3859.0s] Oh, no, it is. [3860.0s] So far. [3861.0s] Oh, it's just way across town. [3862.0s] Jeez, nothing closer? [3863.0s] It'll be fine. [3864.0s] I mean, you can stay at the Red Dragon Trading Post, but they're going to try and like [3869.0s] sign you up for jobs and stuff. [3870.0s] There you are. [3871.0s] At least, you know, you got good... [3872.0s] And besides, we'll be right close to the Host Tower of the Arcane, so it's fine. [3877.0s] It's totally fine. [3878.0s] Let's go. [3879.0s] Yep, found an inn, guys. [3881.0s] And he gives you rough directions on how to get there, and you make your way to [3886.0s] the Cutlass. [3887.0s] And it is a large building, probably a three-story building, so large for the [3892.0s] area. [3893.0s] And you go in, and it is busy. [3897.0s] It is wall-to-wall. [3898.0s] People are drinking and cavorting and having just a gay old time. [3903.0s] There are... [3904.0s] A lot of D2D happening. [3907.0s] A lot of D2D happening. [3909.0s] No. [3910.0s] Majority of them are humans, and you open the door, and it's almost like [3916.0s] everything kind of stops for a second, and everybody looks over at you. [3922.0s] Just for an uncomfortable beat. [3924.0s] So it's like we walked into a diner in a small town. [3927.0s] Yeah. [3928.0s] And then the music kicks back up again, and everybody goes back about their [3931.0s] business as you walk in. [3932.0s] I mean, a dwarf sent us here. [3935.0s] A dwarf that didn't like us that much, so I guess. [3938.0s] I mean, story checks out. [3941.0s] Oh, great. [3942.0s] Time for some awkward small talk with some NPCs. [3945.0s] We're excellent at this. [3952.0s] Hey there. [3953.0s] This is Dungeon Master Russ More. [3954.0s] Thank you for joining us for the mega episode 21 of Dumbgeons and Dragons [3958.0s] titled Reunited in Luskin, and it feels so good. [3962.0s] This really is the first episode that we've played in person in over a year. [3966.0s] And now that Amy and I are back in Canada, we wanted just to make sure [3969.0s] that we did at least one session before we head off to wherever we go to next. [3974.0s] We had a ton of fun recording and being super awkward in front of each other [3978.0s] as we tried to do all our character voices, and we hope you're enjoying it too. [3982.0s] Again, sorry for the snacks. [3985.0s] Unavoidable when you're playing D&D. [3987.0s] It is pretty long as it is, but if you want to hear even more goofs [3991.0s] that were cut out from the main feed episode, you can join us on Patreon. [3996.0s] Over there we've released an extended cut that has some more outtakes [3999.0s] and bloopers that we left into the show. [4002.0s] You can have access to that episode and all other bonus content [4005.0s] we release on Patreon, including our dungeon side-scroller episodes [4009.0s] right now DM'd by Tom Laird. [4011.0s] It's a super fun show that if you haven't heard you can get a taste of [4013.0s] with the first episode. [4015.0s] It's just a couple back in your feed here on the main D&D feed. [4018.0s] When you're a patron, there's a whole bunch of different rewards you can receive [4021.0s] including a special holiday card from us to you, [4024.0s] thanking you for supporting us and the show. [4027.0s] And we do have higher tiers that have more rewards including episode dedications, [4031.0s] contributing to future Q&A episodes, [4033.0s] and having an NPC named after you or in the name of your choosing. [4037.0s] We hope to see you over on our Patreon page, [4039.0s] Patreon.com slash DumbDragonCast. [4042.0s] Our next episode will be out September 27th [4044.0s] and we'll be back to the normal sound of the show, [4047.0s] continuing the trail to stop the cult of the dragon. [4050.0s] More downtime coming your way with the back half of this episode. [4054.0s] Trust me, it gets even more awkward. [4056.0s] I didn't think it was possible, but it does. [4058.0s] Have a great couple of weeks and we'll chat with you soon. [4066.0s] We approached the bar. [4068.0s] Sure. [4069.0s] Can we get there if I have to elbow my way in? [4071.0s] Because I love that. [4073.0s] I'm real pushy. [4074.0s] I'm like, excuse me, excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, excuse me. [4077.0s] And I'm touching people as I walk by. [4080.0s] Excuse me, pardon me. [4084.0s] As you're handsing your way through the crowd, [4086.0s] you find your way to the bar. [4088.0s] And there is a male holder standing at the bar and says, [4093.0s] what can I get you? [4094.0s] Room for the night. [4096.0s] They're talking because I'm the human. [4099.0s] Of course, yeah, room for the night. [4101.0s] I would run you a few gold for the night. [4103.0s] Just the three of you. [4104.0s] Yeah, and a round of ale for my friends. [4107.0s] Yeah, absolutely. Where are you guys from? [4108.0s] As he goes to pour. [4110.0s] Seems like that's not any of your business. [4113.0s] You are very standoffish. [4116.0s] I'm an asshole. [4117.0s] I got very rude. [4118.0s] I liked that. That was character. [4120.0s] All right, yeah, not any of that. Fair enough. [4123.0s] I'm looking forward and I put the gold on the bar [4127.0s] and I say, around, general. [4130.0s] Yeah. [4131.0s] Yeah, yeah. [4132.0s] Because I can't remember. [4133.0s] Like the woods. [4135.0s] That's where I'm from. [4137.0s] The woods. Maybe you've heard of it. [4141.0s] Can we get dinner as well? [4142.0s] Yeah, we've got some lamb. [4144.0s] That's, yeah, it's good. [4146.0s] That sounds great. We'll take three. [4149.0s] All right, all right, no, no more. [4153.0s] I mean, I'm an older gentleman, but we'll get you three. [4157.0s] Yeah, it's all good. [4159.0s] And he, if that's all you need, I'll go about my business. [4164.0s] Scared him. [4166.0s] Oh yeah, he did not like that wink. [4169.0s] Well, I mean, you guys told him [4171.0s] he didn't want to tell him where you're from, so. [4173.0s] Is it around? I don't know what to say. [4175.0s] I can't remember the names of the cities. [4177.0s] So he finished filling up your beers [4181.0s] and hands them to you and says, well, make yourselves at home. [4184.0s] Here's your room key. [4185.0s] It's third floor, room seven. [4188.0s] Thank you. [4189.0s] You have your beers and you look around [4192.0s] and yeah, it's a bustling, loud bar. [4196.0s] There are plenty of humans. [4198.0s] There are a couple of dwarves, [4200.0s] a couple of half-orc type humanoids in there [4204.0s] who are just doing their business. [4208.0s] Is there a bathroom in this place? [4213.0s] Is there somewhere we can sit? [4216.0s] It's a skewer. [4217.0s] I mean, they've planned for it. [4218.0s] It is finger food. [4219.0s] They know it's busy. [4220.0s] I just imagine standing with our skewer and our beer [4223.0s] just like awkwardly in the middle of the crowd. [4226.0s] It's like Carla in real life at every wedding. [4229.0s] Instead of skewers, there are mini cutlasses. [4233.0s] Because it's the cutlass. [4236.0s] We hover by a booth [4239.0s] because these people kind of look like they're done eating. [4242.0s] They're settling up how much each one should pay [4245.0s] and we're just loitering close by. [4247.0s] And you've already done the mental math real fast for them. [4249.0s] They don't know. [4250.0s] Can't really say anything though. [4251.0s] It's 12.70. [4253.0s] And so you go stand by a booth. [4256.0s] You said there was somewhere to sit. [4258.0s] Why don't you go stand by a booth? [4260.0s] We were creating a world of fantasy. [4263.0s] We were creating a world of awkward fantasy life [4265.0s] that happens to us in real life. [4266.0s] We're terrible at this. [4268.0s] It's not a fantasy works. [4270.0s] I walk in and make a scene. [4271.0s] Right away, I'm charming. [4273.0s] I have exact change in my purse [4275.0s] and my food comes on time. [4278.0s] Fantasy work. [4279.0s] That is true. [4280.0s] That is better. [4281.0s] I wonder why I'm creating awkwardness [4283.0s] in my fantasy life. [4286.0s] You want to drag us all down with you. [4290.0s] So you go walk to a table that is open [4293.0s] and you pass by a group that consists of a couple of humans [4297.0s] and a dwarf and a half-orc. [4300.0s] And they notice you walking past and say, [4302.0s] hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, where are you from? [4304.0s] Where are you from? [4305.0s] Haven't seen you around these parts. [4306.0s] He really wants to know where we're from. [4308.0s] We're new. [4310.0s] You're new? [4311.0s] Oh, good. [4312.0s] What brings you through Luskin? [4314.0s] I like it. [4315.0s] What do we want to tell them? [4320.0s] What do we want to tell them? [4322.0s] We have a friend in the host tower up there. [4328.0s] So we're just, we're visiting. [4331.0s] And a buddy in an airship. [4335.0s] It's just kind of like hanging out. [4338.0s] You're meeting a friend in the magical fucking host tower [4341.0s] with somebody flying over our city for the last three weeks. [4344.0s] He's a harmless kind of person. [4346.0s] Which guy? [4347.0s] The host tower or the airship? [4349.0s] The airship. [4350.0s] Oh. [4351.0s] Well, yeah. [4352.0s] But he's still been eyesore. [4354.0s] Eyesore. [4355.0s] But why are you meeting at the magical place? [4356.0s] It just gives me the heebie-jeebies. [4363.0s] He says, fuck. [4364.0s] Well, fuck, fine. [4365.0s] All right. [4368.0s] My brain literally turned off. [4372.0s] She's laughing at heebie-jeebies. [4379.0s] How about you? [4380.0s] You speak better than this lady. [4382.0s] No. [4384.0s] Well, I'll be happy to try. [4385.0s] I haven't said a word the whole time. [4388.0s] You talked to the bartender. [4390.0s] Okay, now we can interact with humans. [4395.0s] Oh my god. [4396.0s] We can't interact with them. [4398.0s] If only there was some clue as to why our real life [4401.0s] interactions were very awkward with people. [4403.0s] I don't know what it is. [4405.0s] Oh my god. [4406.0s] Okay. [4407.0s] I'm sweating and crying. [4410.0s] The stare I have on my face. [4412.0s] So much. [4413.0s] It's like I caught you doing something that you're [4415.0s] responsible for. [4416.0s] At least when we were together. [4417.0s] I had a whole conversation in my head about like, [4420.0s] well, I didn't know that's how the host tower was [4423.0s] viewed from. [4424.0s] Yeah, exactly. [4425.0s] But it was all internal. [4427.0s] We are from afar. [4430.0s] How are you? [4431.0s] Kind, sir. [4432.0s] I'm just trying to be nice. [4434.0s] Solid, yeah. [4435.0s] I didn't say that part. [4436.0s] No. [4437.0s] Good. [4438.0s] Just noticed you come in and we just, you know, [4439.0s] like to welcome people to this fine establishment here. [4443.0s] That is super nice. [4446.0s] Isn't that nice? [4447.0s] Super nice. [4448.0s] Very nice. [4449.0s] Super nice. [4450.0s] Well, good. [4451.0s] What's your story? [4452.0s] Where are you from? [4453.0s] Oh, long time Luskin. [4454.0s] You know, we've just been working here. [4457.0s] Pirate ships, that sort of thing. [4459.0s] Oh, so your regular is at the Cutlass thing. [4461.0s] Yep. [4462.0s] Yep. [4463.0s] You got it. [4464.0s] Yeah. [4465.0s] And, you know, we just like to make people feel welcome. [4468.0s] Didn't mean to make you feel awkward or anything there. [4470.0s] You just kind of stared off into the distance there a little bit. [4473.0s] Trust us, sir. [4474.0s] You had nothing to do with us being awkward. [4476.0s] Fair enough. [4477.0s] Fair enough. [4478.0s] We've had a long travel day. [4481.0s] We freed some dinosaurs earlier. [4483.0s] Freed some dinosaurs? [4484.0s] Where'd you find some dinosaurs? [4486.0s] Upriver. [4488.0s] They're this far north? [4490.0s] Yeah, there were some gnolls. [4492.0s] There were gnolls. [4493.0s] I knew it was like a sign of a letter. [4496.0s] Some gnolls had captured them and brought them this far up north. [4500.0s] We hope that they travel further south and meet up with their wild clans and live their lives. [4506.0s] Hopefully it sounds dangerous to have dinosaurs in the forest. [4509.0s] No, they're super nice though. [4511.0s] Everything is cool. [4512.0s] Okay. [4513.0s] They're going to migrate back to where they're from, so it's totally cool. [4516.0s] Please do not go after them, or we will have to go after you. [4520.0s] Makes sense, makes sense. [4521.0s] I get it. [4522.0s] Hey, why don't you like the people in the host tower? [4524.0s] Yeah, the host tower. [4526.0s] Well, I mean, it just gives... [4528.0s] Haven't you felt it? [4529.0s] Like this weird... [4530.0s] Just got to town. [4531.0s] Kind of magical... [4532.0s] It's a 12 hour travel day and we just rolled in. [4535.0s] We're feeling magical weirdness all over the place though. [4538.0s] It's kind of difficult to... [4539.0s] It's been kind of a weird time. [4541.0s] You're right, you're right. [4542.0s] Yeah, no, it's a... [4543.0s] I mean, it's got a weird history of like liches running the building. [4549.0s] So they say they've cleaned it up, but you never know, right? [4554.0s] I mean, it's a tower that grows itself. [4556.0s] So how much can you trust that? [4559.0s] Oh man, like when he was describing it, I totally thought it was just under construction. [4564.0s] Yeah, me too. [4566.0s] I'm glad we talked to this random patron of the bar. [4569.0s] Absolutely. [4570.0s] I thought that the tree thing was growing, but not the whole thing. [4573.0s] Sir, what is your name? [4575.0s] My name is Badal. [4576.0s] Nice to meet you. [4577.0s] And your name? [4578.0s] Me too, Badal. [4579.0s] I'm Thea. [4580.0s] New Laura. [4581.0s] Flip. [4582.0s] Excellent. [4583.0s] This is my friend Ben. [4584.0s] There's a lot of Ben's in this town. [4585.0s] Apparently. [4586.0s] And... [4587.0s] Out of four people we've met, two have been named Ben or Benny. [4592.0s] The next one will be Benjamin. [4595.0s] The next one will be Benji. [4598.0s] Benji. [4601.0s] There's not that many weird names. [4603.0s] They just call this guy Favache. [4607.0s] Sorry, Favache or Bavache? [4609.0s] Favache. [4612.0s] Favache. [4615.0s] Ben. [4617.0s] The bartender brings you over your meal and sets it onto the table, which is just beside the group you are talking to. [4624.0s] I grab one of those mini cutlasses and just chow down on some of that lamb. [4628.0s] I say, join us at the table. [4631.0s] I mean, order your own food, but sit with us. [4633.0s] The bartender thinks you're talking to him, and it's like... [4636.0s] No, yes, of course, you too. [4637.0s] You can join us too. [4638.0s] Do you have a break coming up? [4639.0s] Sit with us. [4640.0s] Is that a 15? [4641.0s] Maybe in a bit. [4642.0s] I got some work to do, I guess. [4644.0s] We've got a 15. [4645.0s] We've also used to work in restaurants. [4651.0s] Two 15s in a half hour, maybe 45. [4654.0s] You start smoking. [4656.0s] You get a lot more breaks when you work in a restaurant. [4658.0s] That's true. [4659.0s] You sure do. [4661.0s] And the group of four there... [4665.0s] I'm going to give it three names. [4667.0s] And the other fellas... [4669.0s] Silent Bob. [4670.0s] The other fellas' names, yeah. [4672.0s] We call them... [4674.0s] We call them the Quiet One. [4677.0s] That is an ominous name. [4679.0s] Extremely creepy. [4681.0s] Does he look creepy? What's he look like? [4683.0s] He's super friendly. [4684.0s] That's like us telling people we are the Three. [4687.0s] It sounds like we're like blind old ladies. [4690.0s] Like the tapestry weavers. [4692.0s] Like we should be in Macbeth mourning Macbeth about the future. [4696.0s] Yes, not at all. Hercules from Disney. [4699.0s] The four pull their table up to yours, and you sit down, and your food is there. [4706.0s] We eat. [4707.0s] We eat it. [4708.0s] It's delicious. [4709.0s] Boop, boop, boop. [4710.0s] I gave back to... [4712.0s] Oh! [4714.0s] I didn't rest it anywhere, yeah. [4716.0s] My finger still hurts. [4717.0s] Still a little singed. [4719.0s] No fingerprints on this. [4721.0s] Life of pride. [4723.0s] What do you mean liches used to run that place? [4727.0s] Oh, some time ago. [4729.0s] I mean, the building itself was built as a stronghold when the town was just called Alusk. [4737.0s] It was an orcish kind of battlefront, and then that was overrun. [4741.0s] And then years later, some wizards came in, and they did their wizardy stuff and turned themselves into liches. [4750.0s] You know, as they do sometimes when they're trying to just own their powers. [4754.0s] But then they wanted to just have this overseeing power over the city, and this was a whole big thing. [4760.0s] They were then run out by some other not like-minded individuals. [4765.0s] And then the latest group here, the Arkane Brotherhood, they came in and they use it as what they say as a place to learn magic [4775.0s] and learn about all these spiritual things. [4779.0s] But the tower itself, it gives off this aura throughout the city. [4786.0s] It just leaves people uneasy. [4788.0s] We don't like magic so much. [4790.0s] How are the Brotherhood as citizens of Luskin? Secretive? Helpful? [4797.0s] I mean, they kind of oversee the city right now. [4800.0s] They're what you call a bit of the governing body. [4805.0s] They have the checks and bAlydinces up there, but they kind of keep to themselves. [4810.0s] They don't really leave the tower all that often. [4813.0s] Questions? Anybody? [4816.0s] I'm sure we covered all of this like one year ago when we first ran into the Arkane Brotherhood. [4823.0s] Back in like February sometime. [4826.0s] As you guys are discussing, the door bursts open and you hear, [4830.0s] That's them! Those are the people who stole my horses! [4833.0s] Oh, this guy. [4834.0s] I knew he was coming back. [4836.0s] And he's followed by what looked like four or five... [4841.0s] There are five city guardsmen dressed in full armor and regalia following in behind him. [4847.0s] He says, Get them! Take them away! Take them to the gallows! [4850.0s] Whoa! [4851.0s] Sounds like a pretty high crime here that he's committed. [4854.0s] Whoa. Whoa. I stand up. I put down my... [4857.0s] Like the stockades, maybe. The gallows, come on! [4861.0s] Sir, your horses... [4865.0s] Are not back in my stables! [4869.0s] Thea takes one of those breaths where she's just like... [4875.0s] Out with the good, out with the bad. [4878.0s] Did I not say that we would return your horses? [4881.0s] You did, but I don't see my horses and I see you. [4885.0s] Did you end up sucked into some sort of alternate dimension [4891.0s] for what you thought was only a day and a half, [4895.0s] but ended up being three weeks back here? [4897.0s] Did you? [4898.0s] Yes. [4899.0s] Don't believe it. [4900.0s] You should consider yourself lucky that we made sure that the horses [4904.0s] were not also captured by this horrendous person who had imprisoned us. [4909.0s] And thusly we ended up in this alternate dimension shit. [4913.0s] You're imprisoned in a portal without horses. [4915.0s] Yeah. Yeah, that's right. [4917.0s] You're wrong. [4918.0s] Interesting. [4919.0s] Take them away! [4921.0s] Can you give us time to get you your horses back? [4923.0s] Trust me when I say we love tiny, clip-clopping, butterhub. [4929.0s] While this conversation is happening, you see your new friend stand up [4933.0s] and go to talk to the guards. [4935.0s] And he says, I don't think... [4937.0s] Guards! Guards! Come here! [4939.0s] And all of them just kind of walk over to him and say, nothing. [4943.0s] Nothing. [4945.0s] And they walk up. [4947.0s] He's a half-orc? [4949.0s] It's the person we're talking to today? [4951.0s] A human. [4952.0s] He's a really ugly human. [4954.0s] Really ugly. [4956.0s] He looks like a handsome. [4958.0s] As the kids would say, bubbly. [4961.0s] Yes. I say, thank you, my friend. [4964.0s] He was... [4966.0s] Unbearable. Yeah, unbearable. [4968.0s] Yeah, he's... Don't rent horses from him anymore. [4971.0s] I mean, I don't know what you did with the horses or where the horses are, [4974.0s] but just to kind of steer clear of them. [4976.0s] I didn't... I would like to keep the horses. [4979.0s] We love the horses! [4980.0s] This is what I'm wondering. Can we just buy the horses? [4982.0s] I mean, do you have the horses? [4984.0s] In Little Rock, yeah. [4986.0s] In our hearts. [4991.0s] Okay. [4992.0s] When does your business take you out of the city? [4995.0s] Because you've got a few days before he's going to go knock on the guard's doors again. [5000.0s] Possibly tomorrow. [5002.0s] You'll be fine. [5003.0s] We'll be gone by then. [5004.0s] You'll be fine. Don't worry about it. [5006.0s] Thank you again. [5008.0s] We'll buy you a beer. [5009.0s] Definitely. [5010.0s] And some of those lamb skewers, because they were delicious. [5013.0s] He says, thank you. [5015.0s] And you carry about your night. [5018.0s] Unless there's anything else in particular you want to discuss. [5022.0s] You have lots of fun, and then you go and you crash. [5026.0s] That's the international symbol for fun. [5028.0s] It's a lot better than the international symbol for magic that wizards do, [5032.0s] because that looked like this, and I got confused. [5036.0s] As you were hand gesturing, you were like, and they did their wizard magic, [5041.0s] and I was just like, come on, magic is this. [5046.0s] Special magic. [5047.0s] Verifying. God damn it. I wouldn't trust those people either. [5050.0s] That's just a big phallic symbol. [5053.0s] Yeah, so you tell tales, not in an awkward fashion, of your travels, [5058.0s] and you hit the hay, and you wake up the next day, and it is bright. [5064.0s] We go to sleep in an inn, sleep the whole night, [5068.0s] and I'm not awoken by someone choke-holding this guy, [5071.0s] or like a dragon tearing him. [5073.0s] Nothing, we just sleep. [5074.0s] Wow, I love the colors. [5077.0s] Cutlass will win. [5078.0s] I didn't get my things back because of sleeping. [5081.0s] You're really worried about those two hit points, really. [5084.0s] I feel like I earned them, but I didn't want to. [5088.0s] Fingerprints are back. Your fingerprint, just that one. [5091.0s] It was just one, I was just like, hey. [5094.0s] But I brushed it off, I was like, eh. [5098.0s] Like when you try to push your hair back all sexy, [5100.0s] but you get it stuck in a knot, and you're like. [5104.0s] I often have that problem, so I know what you're talking about. [5107.0s] It's the beard twirl, right? [5108.0s] You're like snappy, like a hangnailer. [5111.0s] Then I can't remove my, yeah. [5113.0s] It's real bad. [5115.0s] Yeah, so it is the morning. [5118.0s] Oh, let's book it over to the host tower of the arcane. [5121.0s] I feel like this is just kind of something we need to wrap up, [5124.0s] because I want to get on that ship and do that other mission. [5127.0s] I know, that sounds fun. [5129.0s] For the betterment of the world. [5131.0s] So you settle up with the innkeeper who you've learned through the night. [5136.0s] His name is Arum Gardepac. [5138.0s] Hey. [5140.0s] That's what his name is. [5141.0s] Why wouldn't it be? [5142.0s] It's not even funny. [5144.0s] It's a very common name. [5145.0s] Sorry, Arum? [5146.0s] Arum Gardepac. [5148.0s] And you make your way to the host tower, and the door is wide open. [5151.0s] Good, that'll be. [5154.0s] The same gentleman is standing at the front desk area. [5160.0s] Wilfrid. [5162.0s] Concierge. [5163.0s] Ephraim. [5165.0s] Wilfrid says, oh, you're back again. [5168.0s] You're here to see Makoth, yes? [5171.0s] Yes. [5173.0s] He picks up some device and kind of whispers into it, [5181.0s] and a plume of smoke rises up into the air, [5185.0s] and it floats up and into one of the rooms at the back, [5188.0s] and then Makoth comes out and she says, [5190.0s] Neat. [5192.0s] That's fun. [5194.0s] Good to see you again. [5195.0s] I have had discussions. [5197.0s] She comes down. [5198.0s] She says, I have had discussions with the magistrates here, [5202.0s] and they are willing to help you out in your fight against them. [5208.0s] They are concerned about the portal incidents you've had up late, [5213.0s] rips being torn and dimensional walls and whatnot. [5217.0s] Oh, that's not our fault, though. [5219.0s] Okay. [5220.0s] Well, whose fault is it? [5221.0s] Tibby. [5222.0s] Who's Tibby? [5223.0s] It's the one who created the portal. [5225.0s] Yes, but who's Tibby? [5226.0s] Tibby is a little robot. [5231.0s] Girl? [5232.0s] A mech. [5233.0s] That was modern. [5235.0s] Yeah, I see the modern. [5237.0s] Yes. [5238.0s] Okay, interesting. [5239.0s] Well, we did not choose to go through the portal. [5242.0s] We were stuck in a dungeon. [5243.0s] There was no way out. [5244.0s] Hopefully beyond... [5245.0s] Circumstances being what they are. [5248.0s] Hopefully beyond these troubles that we are having, [5251.0s] we are able to perhaps meet and discuss these portal, [5257.0s] portal magics that this Tibby has learned [5260.0s] and see if we can't get them sorted out [5263.0s] and figure out what's going on there. [5266.0s] But your brain friend, [5269.0s] brain friend, there is a spell of sorts [5275.0s] that does require some components we don't have regularly here. [5280.0s] Sweet. [5281.0s] At the Arcane Brotherhood. [5282.0s] Request! [5284.0s] So, we are more than willing to do the spell [5287.0s] and run the situation for you. [5293.0s] Is there a host vessel for the spirit that's in me to be put into? [5301.0s] I ask without any prompting from my friend Bort [5305.0s] because he knows I've got it back. [5307.0s] This is one of the components that we require. [5312.0s] So, if you were to put him not just into the Aether, [5318.0s] please don't put me in the Aether, [5320.0s] but rather into a new body, [5323.0s] that would be better. [5325.0s] We would require a new body for him. [5329.0s] Anything particular about this body? [5333.0s] Just a body? [5338.0s] Well, I mean the body can't really be dead. [5342.0s] Okay. [5343.0s] So, I'll leave that part up to you, [5346.0s] how you figure that out. [5349.0s] We also require a drop of your blood, [5352.0s] easy enough to obtain. [5354.0s] I don't know, that seems pretty difficult. [5357.0s] We require diamond as a dust. [5362.0s] So, brown to diamonds. [5364.0s] And we also require the amulet of wonder. [5369.0s] I pulled that out of my back pocket. [5371.0s] Oh, this amulet? [5372.0s] This one? [5373.0s] Yes. [5374.0s] The amulet of wonder will probably be the most difficult to obtain. [5378.0s] Most of the other things you could probably, [5380.0s] well, you have your blood, a new body, [5382.0s] you just find one, somehow, someway, your call. [5388.0s] Sounds legit. [5389.0s] And the diamond as dust you can probably find from a merchant [5393.0s] somewhere along your way. [5395.0s] But the... [5397.0s] So, what you're saying is you literally have nothing you need. [5400.0s] Oh, there are many other pieces to this thing that we do have, [5404.0s] but these are the ones that we do not. [5407.0s] So, you didn't already have some of my blood? [5410.0s] What a weird coincidence. [5412.0s] Or a vessel? [5413.0s] No willing vessels. [5416.0s] Does the vessel have to be willing? [5418.0s] Well... [5419.0s] Better? [5420.0s] I suppose not. [5421.0s] I mean, it would be easier, but... [5423.0s] We could capture a bad guy. [5425.0s] Put him in there. [5426.0s] He could take over the bad guy's mind. [5429.0s] But wouldn't there then just be the same problem of having two and one? [5433.0s] This is my question. [5434.0s] We put the second soul into a new vessel, [5438.0s] does he have to fight the... [5440.0s] Well, part of the procedure is removing the soul from the new vessel. [5446.0s] Oh, good. That sounds fun. [5448.0s] So... [5449.0s] Remember that horse guy? He was a real jag. [5451.0s] Nice. [5453.0s] He's kind of scrawny, though. I don't think we want him. [5457.0s] My name? Bortnobody? [5460.0s] We can't hear Bortnobody, but that's a great name. [5463.0s] Beggars, something-something choosers. [5466.0s] The Amulet of... [5468.0s] What did I call it? [5469.0s] The Amulet of Wonder is probably going to be the most difficult to find. [5473.0s] It was... the last known location of it was in a temple in Kalimshan, [5479.0s] which is on the north coast of the Shining Sea, [5484.0s] and it's to the south of a city called... [5488.0s] or a region called Tether. [5492.0s] The capital city we probably know as Kalimport. [5496.0s] And you would probably want to start there. [5500.0s] Is this south? [5502.0s] It's on the north coast of the Shining Sea, [5505.0s] which is on the opposite side of Faerun, [5508.0s] which you, as players, have never seen a map of. [5511.0s] Pretty sure, if I remember my map of Faerun correctly, [5514.0s] that's somewhat close to where Dantheros is. [5520.0s] What? [5521.0s] Because I'm pretty sure I had Carla's character go over the sea [5525.0s] to get to where she was going. [5528.0s] It's probably a different time period. [5531.0s] You might never run into those people. [5533.0s] It's entirely possible. [5535.0s] But that temple, not exactly the precise location, [5539.0s] you'd probably want to start in Kalimport and see, ask around there. [5543.0s] Obviously this is on your timetable, [5545.0s] so we are ready to begin whenever you are, [5548.0s] but there are obviously more pressing things at hand. [5551.0s] It's up to you. [5554.0s] Should we ask her if she knows anything [5556.0s] about that other dragon speaker guy [5559.0s] that the airship dude wants to go take care of [5562.0s] from way back in the day? [5564.0s] Transparency and whatnot, [5566.0s] we're all supposed to be working together. [5568.0s] Just that she might know something. [5570.0s] She might. [5571.0s] Do for sure have that person written down. [5574.0s] Wormspeaker leaders. [5577.0s] Vram the White? Is that who we're looking for? [5580.0s] In the Serpent Hills, yes. [5582.0s] And he like went rogue, right? [5585.0s] What Leosin told you in episode two [5589.0s] was Vram the White, [5592.0s] who is known to be a close ally and confident of Severin, [5596.0s] the cult of the dragon leader, [5599.0s] has gone missing. [5603.0s] Or rather, he hasn't gone missing. [5606.0s] The rumor is his white dragon mask has gone missing. [5611.0s] But the rumor also states [5614.0s] that Severin does not know Vram has lost the mask yet. [5620.0s] Well, no, you don't tell your boss you fucked up your head. [5623.0s] So Vram was last seen in the Serpent Hills. [5629.0s] Airship fake name guy. [5632.0s] Believed to be tracking his lost mask, [5636.0s] which has been stolen from him. [5639.0s] But that was the last location he was seen. [5641.0s] I feel like he's changed his story to stolen from him. [5644.0s] Not like he's misplaced it. [5646.0s] He's completely incompetent. [5648.0s] Just like left it in the back of his cab [5650.0s] on the boat night from the bar one night. [5652.0s] That's what Leosin would have told you. [5655.0s] So I say, McAuth, [5659.0s] Grancis [5665.0s] Grancis [5667.0s] is here to help us on the next part of our journey [5671.0s] to defeating the cult of the dragon. [5675.0s] We are going to Serpent Hills [5679.0s] to look for the white mask of Vram. [5691.0s] Do you have any information that can help us? [5694.0s] We all have the same goal here. [5696.0s] Vram the White was... [5699.0s] We have heard that he is in search of the white dragon mask [5704.0s] that was in fact stolen from him. [5707.0s] He has managed to hide this from Severin. [5710.0s] Last I heard, something may have changed since then. [5713.0s] It's been a while since we last heard of this. [5716.0s] But it was stolen perhaps by a thief with the Zhentarim. [5722.0s] And last heard, he was tracking it through the Serpent Hills. [5727.0s] That is really all the information we have, [5730.0s] but sounds like that's still what they're going off of [5733.0s] with your guild, Denied Shadows, [5736.0s] and perhaps what the council at Waterdeep is still going off of. [5740.0s] Well, it looks like we are going to investigate this further. [5745.0s] Do you have anything that could help us on our journey? [5748.0s] Well, when you need the Arcane Brotherhood, we will be there. [5751.0s] But there is nothing I can grant you. [5754.0s] I mean, I tried to grant her knowledge of wisdom and magic. [5757.0s] Shh, turn me down. [5759.0s] It was a pretty harsh rejection. [5761.0s] You just told me yesterday I could come back [5763.0s] when we were done this adventure. [5765.0s] I could, but I tried to get you right off the boat. [5767.0s] Yeah, months ago. [5769.0s] Remember, you come with me, this isn't a trap. [5772.0s] I don't want to break up the game. [5775.0s] We're very reluctant to break up the game. [5777.0s] What are we doing? [5779.0s] We've got to stay together. [5782.0s] Aside from separating your friend and his new friend from each other, [5787.0s] there's nothing I can send you with at this moment. [5790.0s] Is there anything else you need from us at this moment? [5793.0s] Because we're going to hop on that airship. [5796.0s] Knowing that you are back in the fight against the Cult of the Dragon, [5801.0s] knowing that you are still in the fight against the Cult of the Dragon, [5805.0s] has appeased the magistrates of the Arcane Brotherhood, [5812.0s] and they will be in touch with the Council at Waterdeep [5817.0s] and with the Guild of the Nine Shadows [5819.0s] in order to find out what needs to happen next. [5821.0s] But it sounds like you need to catch an airship [5824.0s] and get it out of here with Grancis. [5826.0s] Get rid of Grancis. [5828.0s] Grancis? [5830.0s] The most popular man in town. [5833.0s] And us, by association, with him. [5836.0s] Yeah, totally. [5838.0s] Makoth, I will return to learn more [5843.0s] when we have defeated the Cult of the Dragon. [5847.0s] I guess that's when I'll return. [5849.0s] I feel you will find more of your abilities along your journey, [5853.0s] but we would be grateful to help you in discovering those. [5858.0s] Thank you for your help. [5863.0s] To the airship. [5864.0s] To the airship. [5866.0s] To everyone's favorite, Grancis. [5870.0s] To the man everyone hates for some reason. [5873.0s] For some reason. [5874.0s] Krystrel Zoid's very lovable. [5875.0s] I don't know why everyone just loves him. [5877.0s] He could just be an intense personality. [5879.0s] You make your way back out and you meet the same dwarf at the gate. [5884.0s] Knock, knock. [5885.0s] Is he leaving this time? [5887.0s] Yes. [5888.0s] Good. [5889.0s] We're going to go. [5890.0s] We're going to take Grancis with us. [5891.0s] Alright. [5892.0s] Alright. [5893.0s] He lets you in. [5894.0s] He gives us whatever we want from the dwarf's trouble. [5897.0s] Anything you guys need? [5899.0s] You need some weapons, some armor, some something? [5902.0s] You got anything cool? [5904.0s] I mean, it's all like ore and stuff, but I don't know. [5908.0s] You're fine. [5909.0s] Just get out of here. [5910.0s] That's all I'm saying. [5911.0s] So yeah, he just lets you through [5913.0s] and sees you climb aboard the airship. [5915.0s] And Grancis says, [5916.0s] Alright, so we can... [5918.0s] She's already gone, but can we get out of here now? [5922.0s] Yeah, I don't see why not. [5924.0s] Let's go. [5925.0s] Alright, so he... [5926.0s] Let's go find a dragon mask. [5927.0s] He starts pulling knobs and levers. [5930.0s] He's like, are we going to go see your horses or what? [5933.0s] Yeah, the horses. [5934.0s] Quick stop by the horses? [5937.0s] I have no idea of the geography of this place. [5939.0s] I only have a map of the city. [5940.0s] We left them in a forest [5943.0s] before we found the Oni, the kid that was the Oni, [5947.0s] if I remember correctly. [5948.0s] Oh, so that wasn't that far. [5949.0s] That was like less than a day's walk. [5951.0s] How fast does this airship go? [5953.0s] Quick, perfect. [5954.0s] We're there. [5955.0s] Grancis turns all the knobs and everything [5957.0s] and sets off towards Little Rock. [5959.0s] You see, along your way, [5963.0s] three recognizable horses riding in the field. [5967.0s] I scream out the ship, [5968.0s] Tiny! [5969.0s] He says, are we picking up these horses or what? [5971.0s] Fuck yeah. [5972.0s] So he drops the airship down and lowers a ramp. [5975.0s] And you guys lead the horses back onto the ship. [5979.0s] And he says, if they shit, I'm not cleaning it up. [5982.0s] Well, the horses, they're definitely going to shit. [5984.0s] Yeah, but I'm not cleaning it up is all I'm saying. [5986.0s] Fair. [5987.0s] But there's not really an if. [5988.0s] That's all we're saying. [5989.0s] When they shit, I'm not cleaning it up. [5990.0s] So just figure it out. [5992.0s] Also, I'm not bringing these guys back to that jackass guy. [5995.0s] And then he takes back off [5997.0s] and starts setting south towards these serpent hills. [6002.0s] Guys, we played D&D together. [6004.0s] Yay! [6028.0s] Music in today's episode was by Kavin McLeod of incompetech.filmmusic.io. [6033.0s] Dumbgeons & Dragons is a Dumb Dragons production.
